The Federal Quarters was one of those rare experiences that actually exceeded expectations in every way. The home itself is stunning, but what really sets it apart is the feeling that you’re stepping into something meaningful, not just another rental. The history alone is incredible. Staying in a house built in 1801, where Aaron Burr hid after the Hamilton duel, adds a layer of character you simply can’t replicate. While historic, the home has been meticulously updated. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the bathrooms are modern and thoughtfully designed. You get all the charm of period antiques and architecture without sacrificing anything in terms of convenience or livability. It feels elevated, intentional, and genuinely special. The location is equally ideal. It’s an easy walk to the riverfront, restaurants, and the Cumberland Island ferry. At the same time, the property itself feels like a private retreat. You can just as easily spend an afternoon reading in the sunroom, enjoying the expansive outdoor space, or simply soaking in the atmosphere. Finally, and probably most importantly, the hosts were exceptional. Truly great people who took the time to walk us through the home, its history, and what it means to them. I’d come back just to spend more time with them. My whole family has already been asking when we can return, and I’m right there with them.
