My in-laws and I chose this house to host our family Christmas this year. We wanted a place that could accommodate three couples and two kids and that was in driving distance of everyone. Hence, the middle of the state. The important factors for me were that it have enough bathrooms for everyone to have privacy (there were 4!) and a huge kitchen for gathering (it was ginormous!). Other details we appreciated included the many small amenities (toilet paper, tissues, pots, pans, paper, pencils, soaps, etc etc really everything); the cleanliness (the beds were all made and smelled so good and clean, and there was a stocked supply closet of cleaning supplies); the things for kids to do (a TV with Netflix, wifi, books and books and books, and Lego); and a bedroom on the main floor that was critical for my mother-in-law who has a hard time with stairs. Because we were celebrating Christmas, we even packed a tree, but there was one already set up in the house that we were able to use The only trouble we ran into was a glitch regarding check-in and check-out instructions that host Ethan was quick to attend to and the rest of our stay went smoothly. It is a house a little bit in the middle of nowhere (on a dirt road even) with water from a well, but there is filtered water in the fridge for drinking. The kitchen is huge and beautiful and the heart of the home. It's perfect for preparing a family meal or storing your own snacks. We loaded up the fridge and spent our Saturday making a big Christmas dinner, and the house was perfect for that. I would absolutely recommend staying here for a low-key cozy family getaway.
