Upon arriving at our cabin we walked in to a property that was not cleaned from the previous guest. Sheets were stripped from the bed, food was in the fridge, garbage in the bathroom waste basket etc.
Much to our horror, the property management company, Vacasa, told us via text that the '..best option for you is to stay at home. I will make your request to be prioritized. Please wait for our Local Manager to call you...' In other words, stay the night in an uncleaned cabin and deal with it until you get a phone call. Nevermind that we sent you this text at 6:30pm and we have no idea as to when it will be resolved.
What really chapped me is they sent me a text at 6:19pm asking '...how clean was the room when you arrived? Reply with a rating from 1 to 5 (5 being the cleanest)...' They knew since roughly 5pm that the property was not cleaned and yet they still sent automated insults like this to my phone.
Thankfully we had family that lived roughly 30 minutes away and we stayed with them the night.
The 'Local Operation Manager' never contacted us. The next morning I called Vacasa at 8:08am demanding resolution by noon or we're to cancel our stay and request a full refund. Out of nowhere they said the cabin was now cleaned with no explanation.
My wife and I planned this trip for 4 months and it caused unnecessary stress on us both. Being told to sleep in an unkept property was insulting and the lack of effective communication to get the matter resolved made it worse.
