Log Lodge was a large, wonderful home for a weeks stay at Lost Lake. The house was very clean. The exterior could use a little tidying up, but inside was wonderful. We loved the pier (and rental boat) and ease of getting on the lake (literally steps from the door). The area around the pier is shallow and weedy so not a great spot for swimming. The fire pit was nice although some of the Adirondack chairs were cracked so could use replacing. Kayaks were fun. Kids loved the arcade machine in the basement. Kitchen was well stocked (could use a pasta strainer). Plenty of room to spread out and relax. We did have a couple of issues and Austin at Hiller was wonderful to work with. Trash bins are located in the shed and we were asked to use them upon checking out for our garbage. We opened the shed to retrieve the bins and there were at least 30 bags of previous renters garbage piled high in the shed. We informed Hiller and they were able to help get the bags out, but we did have to wait 1.5 days for it all to be picked up. All in all not terrible but it didn't look or smell the best out in front of the house. We also had a wash basin back up after a load of laundry and were worried it might overflow. Maintenance was called and they thought the septic would need to be pumped. Another 1.5 days went by and that was finally done, but the issues with the back-up continued. It was a bit stressful trying to limit showers, washing clothes and flushing toilets for fear of an overflow so that kind of put a damper on the trip. Again, Austin was great, very timely with responses and tried his best to get services when we needed them. I hope the issue gets resolved for following renters because the house is great and location can't be beat.
