Great place. Huge pool. Booking for next year.

Our stay here went without a hitch. The representation of this place was spot on. This was our first VRBO experience. The owners represented themselves and VRBO AS perfect hosts. Thank you for making a get away from work time, relaxing and enjoyable.

Great value!

This is one of the original beach houses left on the island! It is not fancy but very sufficient! Great location and beach access was easy to walk or drive. We will return! Thank you!

Definitely recommend!!

This was our first trip to St. George Island. The property is exactly as described. The house is very spacious. The king bed in the master is like sleeping on a cloud - it's so comfortable. There were plenty of extra blankets and pillows as well as beach towels. The pool was heated which was nice for the kids. However, the heat index during the week was 109 so it was a bit warm for the adults. The only complaint we had was that the house could use a deep clean. There was a lot of dust bunnies being blown out from under the beds from the fans. The fans in the bathroom also need cleaned. Small stuff. The upper back deck has been redone and there is also a roof over part of the back deck which was nice for lunch and watching the kids in the pool. The lower decks need repair but there is lumber on the property so it looks as though that is going to be done as well. The front porch is screened and has ceiling fans. We sat out there everyday and just enjoyed evenings without bugs. We would stay here again!!

Beach Baby is a Beached Whale

Disappointing. I’ve stayed at many VRBO properties but none that misrepresented the true condition or amenities like this one. Obviously never prepared the property knowing we were coming in. Had not been attended to in weeks. Total property was overgrown and nasty. Pool area looks nothing like the listing pictures. Rusted chairs, weathered cushions, broken umbrella, and floats apparently left outside in the rain. Decking was rotten wood and falling apart. No soap, had two rolls of toilet paper, and 2 trash bags for the week. Beds had not been changed and sand everywhere. Grill was unusable and filthy. Renter beware!! Not worth half what they charged! You’d be better off camping out!

We had a good time. We had a small miscommunication at the beginning about the pool heat, but Jennifer was quick to sort it out. Kitchen was well equipped and the beds were nice. Thanks!

Vacation week was great at this property.

Overall the rental/week was lovely. We enjoyed our stay. Deck is in desperate need of repair. We knew this going into the reservation, but it didn’t detract from our vacation experience. Inside was clean and well stocked with kitchen items.

Very disappointed

The inside of the property was very clean however, the outside was very outdated & the pool area was filthy. There were old floats laying around with a terrible smell. There was a terrible insect problem. Wasp nest in the bushes and the bugs were so bad we could now swim in the pool after 4. The pool guy came Saturday morning, we left to go to the beach, when we got back the pool was overflowing dirt was floating back in the pool. The kids could not swim at all Saturday afternoon.

Great Stay in St George

Stayed with four adults. The house has everything you need: comfortable beds, good a/c, strong 5ghz wifi, a pool, and ample decking all within minutes of miles of beach. There are some minor cosmetic issues mentioned in previous reviews, but none of them were difficult for us to work around and we felt the price for the home was quite fair for what we got when compared to other options. Would stay again.

Could be nice but safety/ maintenance is an issue…

Checking in to the property was a breeze. The inside of the house was nice, and the listing was true for beds and baths. There were several things in and around the house that were broken or not working properly when we arrived, including the master bathroom faucet drips constantly, the master bathroom toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, and the dryer timed cycle doesn’t work (it doesn’t shut off). We also found dirty dishes in the cabinets (I assume this was from the previous renters). Also the landscaping that is proudly talked about in the listing is overgrown with weeds and dead plantings. Our biggest concern, however, was safety. The entire outside deck has loose nails and screws sticking up. The first thing that happened when exploring the property was a family member was stuck in the foot. Thankfully he felt it before it hurt him too bad and he moved his foot before putting all of his weight down. Along with the loose and sticking up nails and screws were many loose boards and steps, and one step that was broken in half. We learned to avoid these areas and just wear shoes everywhere- even out to the pool, but that is a dangerous situation. Overall our trip was good because of St. George Island itself. Unfortunately we will not be returning to this property.

Got the job done, great location

Overall, we enjoyed our trip very much! The kitchen was well stocked, bedding and towels were very comfortable. But a little maintenance would go a long way at this property. Landscaping, especially the pool area, needs cleaned up. The deck is a splinter paradise and the electric cook top was very finicky and tough to cook on. Very close to the beach and a short ride to shops & restaurants.

Inside was very clean

The inside of this property was very clean. The front porch was spacious and relaxing. The property is a block and a half walk to the beach. That being said, the outside needs a lot of help. Creaky stairs going up to the front door. Back deck needs replacing. Pool not working (but pool guy was there twice to unsuccessfully fix) Landscaping is rough. Large driveway and nice covered parking. They allowed dogs and that was the overall factor.

Christmas break

Overall, this was a fantastic place. Very clean and comfortable bedding and towels with a fully stocked kitchen supplies. The owner was very easy to reach and pleasant. We had convenient access to the beach. Initially the only thing that I thought could be improved was the condition of the outside wood. However, after seeing how moist it could get over night and the condition of the other properties outside decking, this seemed typical for the area. The space itself was wonderful and gave us plenty of room to move around.
