Very nice well decorated house. Being on main island road was a bit noisy at times. A lot of steps to negotiate. Would have been extremely helpful if the baggage lift was not locked out to guests. Microwave turntable was broken, the detergent door on dishwasher was broken, and only one of the two burners on gas grill worked. However kitchen was well appointed with various appliances and plenty of dishes and utensils.

Absolutely perfect beach house!! The owners have great attention to details and exquisite decorating style. Definitely a house set up for a larger group with lots of comfortable sitting areas. One block to the beach and bay, stunning sunrises from the porch, and a pool designed for lounging made for one our favorite beach trips! Thank you for sharing your paradise!

Perfect location, great property, highly recommend

This is a wonderful property, with a nice private apartment on the lower level if that’s what you need. Built-in privacy for the special guest. The wraparound balcony was incredible. Unfortunately they do not allow access to the elevator. Conveniently located, bike trail right across the street. My only complaint, burn the sofa. The beds are great, the sofa has seen better days.

Beautiful house with great location

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here for our annual family vacation! We’ve been coming to St. George Island for 26 years now and this house is easily one of our favorites. The house is located with easy access to the beach and the pool area is like a private oasis for when the beach gets too crowded or hot. The house is decorated beautifully on both levels and it is equipped with everything you could possibly need. We look forward to staying here again!

Wonderful House

Everything matched the description. It was a wonderful house in every respect. Super clean, great master bed, well equipped kitchen, big master bath. The in-law apartment came in handy as a part time office while I worked a few hours a day upstairs in the main house. The location, 200 yards from the beach, in the middle of the island, was ideal. I would highly recommend.

The Stork Nest

It was a great house that met all our needs. The walk to beach was an easy one that even the two year old could walk. Loved the large porch and that it had gates. Also enjoyed eating on the screened portion of the porch. The house was well stocked with dishes, cooking items, gadgets etc. Nice appliances. Beds we’re comfortable. Furniture was all nice and well made. we loved the pool and deck area. Beautiful and inviting. We were glad there wasn’t any way to the pool except from the front of house. That way didn’t have to worry about a little child sneaking out the back and going by themself. If the pool is ever drained would be helpful to put nonskid strips on steps. My husband slipped getting into pool and cracked his fibula and severely sprained his ankle. Ended up on crutches for a week and confined to house.😞 Having the extra fridge close to the outside apartment came in handy for ice and drinks. The only suggestions I have: 1. Providing a small tool kit 2. Providing two trash bags for each week stayed We were there 3 weeks. 3. Maybe add a chair to left of fireplace for more seating for 8 people. Had a wonderful time in your great home. Was our first trip to St. George Island.

Great location, beautiful house!

Very clean and so welcoming! Lovely view of the ocean from the front porch. The screened in porch was great when evening bugs started to bite. The pool was awesome! The mother in law suite was great for my in laws. We’d come again for sure. 😃

A very nice place

We enjoyed our 3 weeks at the Storks Nest. Owners are friendly and the management company was very responsive (the wifi dropped once during our stay but they got it up again within an hour). There are a few repairs needed that they will be addressing but nothing that impacted our great stay.

Best Vacation Ever

This property exceeded all of our expectations! The screened in porch was great for spending time outdoors in the evening without worrying about mosquitos. The fenced in pool was perfect for cooling off after a day at the beach. There was plenty of room for 6 adults to spread out and have their own space but also plenty of common space for everyone to be together. The location is just a short walk to the beach and close to town. We rented a golf cart and used it to get to the grocery, shops, and restaurants on the island as well as hauling our free beach gear to the beach. We hope to make it back again in the future!

Beautiful home with a GREAT location!

This home is beautifully decorated and really made me feel like I was in a home that was loved and well taken care of. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need and more. My mother-in-law and I also enjoyed reading the books in the home. It has tons of books! In addition, my family and I really enjoyed the bicycles that we rented through the gift voucher. However, I could only give the property three stars. Upon our arrival, we realized that the ice maker wasn't working property. The property management company was quick to get out to check it out but they could not fix it. I was told that they would schedule an appliance repair person and that they would keep me in the loop as to when they would arrive but I never heard from them again and no one ever came, so we had to buy ice for the week. We also struggled with the layout a little. The listing and the pictures are very clear but I didn't think about the pool being in the back and the only stairs being in the front of the house. We love to hang out with family and grill out by the pool but it is just not convenient to do that. The stairs at the front of the home are the only stairs and this made getting everything from the kitchen to the pool area inconvenient. And without rearranging their furniture (which we didn't do), there is no way to sit on the porch and watch the kids playing in the pool, so it made it hard for some sun sensitive family members to join in on the fun. The washing machine has not been cleaned in a very long time and smelled very bad. I was very hesitant to wash our clothes in the machine but did. Clothes came out clean but had a slight musty smell. Lastly, the TVs are terrible. The TV in the living room has a huge yellow square in the middle of the screen and the other TVs are very little. We don't really come to the beach to watch TV but wanted to give an honest review. Overall, the house was beautiful and the location was wonderful; it was just not laid out well for our needs.

A wonderful spring break

We had a great time. The house was perfect, a very short distance to the beach access across the round and about 1.5 miles to the shops/restaurants on a flat cycle path. When we booked it said there was no shower in the downstairs unit but there is a beautiful shower there now which was a happy discovery! The house has everything you could ever need. The pool was the perfect size for our 2 young kids to splash around in and was lovely and clean although a little cold for me!! It is perfect for pets as the back yard is completely fenced and the front porch has a gate on it so the dog could enjoy the sea breeze too. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to anyone!
