Got downgraded from a room with a king size bed to a queen size. The host did notify about the change. Had some roaches in the room and the room just did not feel clean. The listing is also a little confusing, since there was no kitchen.

The coffee maker didn’t work. The listing said it was a king bed with premium mountain view. The room was two queen beds and there wasn’t much of a view. Small tiny window and lots of trees in the yard. We loved the location and the seclusion. It wasn’t anything fancy but we just needed a place to stay and wash up so it was good.

I would not recommend this place, property was old and unkept. Bed was worn down, door doesn’t seal at the bottom thus letting in the cockroach that fell on my pillow during the night. Communication with owner was not good.

Anna and Bogdan are truly special. They provide the best customer service experience in the whole area! The property is very peaceful and creates a true sense of serenity. I am so thankful for their hospitality and kindness!

This trip was meticulously planned to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, a significant milestone for my wife and me. However, the reality of the accommodation was not only disappointing but utterly unacceptable, leading us to abandon the trip and return home immediately. The property failed to meet even the most basic standards of hospitality and hygiene in the following ways: Deceptive Representation: The actual scenery and location were significantly different from the photos provided on your website. Unsanitary Conditions: Upon entry, the floors and tables were covered in thick yellow dust, indicating a total lack of cleaning. Severe Hygiene Issues: The pillowcases were unwashed and emitted a foul, unbearable odor. It was impossible for us to remain in such an unsanitary environment.

Excellent location for visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP. The host was attentive, the room was perfect with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and place settings for 2. I just hope the toilet paper was chosen for the septic system and not because they wanted that brand. I am glad I arrived in the daylight, the short dirt road in would be tricky in the dark the first time. Dining recommendations were spot on - good food, very friendly service, and close by. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

Suitable value for money as a gateway into Sequoia NP. Older buildings. Quite dated but everything was ok. Other than the shower that had fairly low pressure.

My companion and I really enjoyed the location. It did take a few minutes to find our room, but once in we were able to relax. A few items to mention: the door lock to Ponderosa does not seem to lock securely. And, I did encounter some cockroaches, which we were able to dispatch without much problem - I think these are unavoidable. But overall, we would very much like to stay at this property again!

Unique and Comfortable

The parking was slightly confusing but we didn't end up having any issues. We were under the impression this would be more of an entire house with a kitchen, the pictures are deceiving. It is just a room. It was still great for our needs. The bed was comfortable and we just loved the bathroom! There weren't any towels when we arrived so we weren't able to shower after hiking all day but when we woke up there were some outside our door. We did book very last minute. It wasn't exactly what we were expecting but I would stay again and recommend to others!

This location was unclean, did not have proper heating, and there was debris all around the living space.

The room was clean, but it was listed as a "premium" room. Nothing was premium about this room or location. The "lodge" was actually 4 rooms that were in what appeared to be a renovated horse barn in a rural area with extremely poor dirt roads. The lady that oversees the property is very nice. The room was okay and was clean. Only big enough for 2 queen beds, which were comfortable. The layout made it difficult to get around. It is a shorter distance to Kings Canyon and that's why we stayed 2 nights and as I said, it was clean. Hikers might appreciate the roughness of the area, but we are senior adults.

I liked that the people there running it was really nice! Is a nice getaway for a short stay! What I didn't like about my stay is when they gave my room that I reserved for a reason to someone else all because they didn't want to sleep in the same bed! I reserved 2 queen beds for a reason! I had 3 people in my group and there so called upgrade for me was a bed and a couch and said they would bring us some wine for staying in that upgraded room but never brought it! Then the next day had to move our stuff to go to our original room that we were suppose to have to start with! That was not right for them to give away our room like that! If I stay there again I won't except anything but what I reserved!
