  • The Orchard at Altapass is the only orchard that I have been to. Each time I go to Crabtree falls I try to go to the orchard, but this is not always possible because the store is closed during the winter for offseason. I also have never actually gone apple picking, but instead go inside the store and buy the already picked apples. The majority of the times I have visited, there is live bluegrass music. Different kinds of preserved canned foods line many shelves in the store. Homemade fudge is sold, as well as ice cream. During the fall parking can be rough, since it is peak leaf and apple season. This picture captures the vastness of the Appalachian region in my eyes: the life present, the rich colors, and the visibility of the mountains far away. I can recall the sweet smells of the many trees producing apples. #appalachianechoes

Here’s a warm, heartfelt review you can use or tweak:---We stayed here just before Christmas, and it was such a special experience. The house is beautiful with plenty of space for everyone to relax and be together. We spent our time doing puzzles, painting, and playing games, but most of all, we simply enjoyed being together—and that made it unforgettable.One of our favorite touches was that the house was lightly decorated for Christmas. It added an extra layer of warmth and made the whole stay feel even more special. This home truly offered the perfect setting to slow down, connect, and make meaningful memories. We’re so grateful for our time here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to gather and create lasting moments.

Peaceful with Beautiful Views

Easy access on a paved road. Large home with spacious rooms and large deck . We enjoyed our morning coffee sitting on the deck bird watching. In the evening we watched the sun go down over the mountains on the deck swing, This was our second trip to this property. We are planning to return next year.

Beautiful, comfortable home. Easy access to the property and plenty of parking space. Wonderful views from the deck. Very quiet, we loved it. We are already talking about coming back. 3 night get-away with family.

This property is beautiful with amazing views. We were all very comfortable in our rooms. The weather did not allow us to sit outside, but we enjoyed the views through the large windows. We stayed in and tried watching March Madness. We had issues with the TV in the main room. Overall a great place to stay!

Amazing Mountain Retreat

We loved this home in the mountains of NC so much I am hesitant to leave this review because it will be completely booked up once the secret is out. This home is perfect for a large family, is extremely well-equipped, has incredible mountain views, and the cost was very reasonable. It’s also minute from the Blue Ridge Parkway. We will definitely go back! Thank you for a great vacation!

Spectacular Home and Views!

This home is everything you could possibly dream of! From the moment you see the home for the first time , you will never want to leave. Great place, enjoyed our stay

The place is just as pictured, clean and comfortable! Loved eating meals in the breakfast nook with an amazing view of the mountains! We hiked Grandfather Mountain nearby (30-45 min. Drive) which we highly recommend! You have to visit the local coffee shop (The Fox and the Fig) for a great brunch and wonderful coffee!

Annual Friends get together

The house was perfect, clean and very cozy. The view was fantastic , everything we needed was supplied. The area, Spruce Pines is a very friendly community, many places to visit and eat. My group rides motorcycles, we had a great time highly recommended, roads and trails were made for motorcycles and best of all we had a garage to keep them in. Loved the house ..

Perfect family mountain retreat!

Our granddaughter wanted to celebrate her 9th birthday in the mountains and go snow tubing. The home was perfect for a family getaway. The hosts have thought of everything. The mountain view from the home are spectacular! The fireplace was cozy and everyone was comfortable. The tubing at Jonas Ridge was so much fun that the grandkids with their parents went a second time! We all want to come back and enjoy the home during a warmer season when we could take advantage of the wonderful porch with panoramic mountain view!

WOW! Best VRBO yet!

We definitely want to stay here again! Clean, beautiful, functional. Hosts were amazing! No one will be disappointed here. Lovely area. We saw deer on our walks. Best jacuzzi tub in master bath! I can’t say enough good about this lovely home!
