So close to perfect

I’ll starts with the pros! This was a great place for a couple’s retreat. Very well decorated and the kitchen is well stocked. The pool is beautiful and the outdoor area was cute. The bed slept great and the listing was accurate (especially about needing 4 wheel drive!). Host was friendly and communicated well. AC works well. Unfortunately, we did feel like there were some details that were missed/ made the place fall short of 5 stars. Our last full day, we discovered the dryer didn’t work. There was also a pair of a previous guest’s underwear in the washing machine. The kitchen has everything you need, we just found the pots needed to be recleaned. One of the lazy Susan cabinets was also broken, which a cleaner should’ve caught. The AC worked, but the vents needed to be cleaned out. Twice, once in the kitchen and once in the bathroom, the vents blew a bunch of dust and crud onto the counter and tub. Shower/tub combo is very pretty but the water pressure isn’t great and there’s not any shelves for soap. Our towels had some stains on them and probably needed to be replaced too. We really enjoyed our stay, but felt like the details did matter here. It’s a lovely property and with those few things better cleaned/maintained it’ll be perfect!

The road to the property is horrible. I know the property owner can't control this, but we would have taken a different vehicle if we had known. And having only one bathroom downstairs and the bedrooms upstairs was very inconvenient. The A/C arrangement could not keep up with the heat. Made for an interesting time. We enjoyed the pool and the outdoor shower.

The house and location were amazing. the small little amenities offered in the home made the place more relaxing. It does get a bit warm in the house during the day but that’s why there is a pool to cool off in!!!!!

BEWARE!!! Not As Advertised!

Where do I begin…The property had numerous problems. First the term air conditioned is up for interpretation. Portable units that only cooled a portion of the room. Not all in working order or in all bedrooms. I found myself hopping from one fan to another just to try to be comfortable. The pool was not operational until late in the evening after we arrived. When turning on the bath water a strong sewage smell was present and I did not feel comfortable letting my child take a bath. Also it says you need an suv. I have one but I would suggest a 4x4 because the road to this house most likely messed up my suspension. We left a day early because it was that bad. I asked for a refund and they said they would get back with me. Didn’t hear back at all. You could not pay me to go back to this property. Save your money.

Cute House, Terrible Road

The house is super cute and cozy! The pool was clean and lovely! However, the road getting to the house was treacherous and should really be disclosed in the description of the house. One of us has a low profile car and barely made it.

Secluded Getaway

This was an anniversary trip for my wife and I. The seclusion was perfect. Hardly heard a peep from the neighbors. Pool and hot tub were clean and well kept. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway.

Anniversary getaway

This place is just what we needed. Away from the city and nice, clean, cool pool to relax in and the hot tub did not disappoint. So glad we were able to spend our anniversary here. The upstairs does tend to get a bit warm so crank up the fans before you head to bed. Do go very slowly getting closer to the home there is an unpaved piece of road and definitely recommend a 4x4 vehicle. All in all it was a fun place to stay at. We truly enjoyed ourselves here. It’s a beautiful, secluded, private area. Recommend for sure.

Perfect secluded getaway

This property is perfect If you are looking to unplug and get away from the busy city! This trip was a Mother’s Day present for my best friend and I. We spent it at the barn house cooking, swimming, reading and watching movies. It was definitely a reset. The house had a warming boho/zen vibe that made it even more relaxing!

Summary: We will not stay here again nor do we suggest that anyone does. And if you don't have a 4x4, and we do, its definitely not a good idea. And it hadn't even rained. Too many problems to list.

Anniversary stay

I communicated the issues with housekeeping to the Property Management group. The outdoor areas were pleasant. The hot tub was hot. The portion of unpaved road was not a big issue and we appreciated it being addressed in the listing. The property is secluded. Having the one bathroom downstairs and the bedrooms upstairs was an issue for us - age related. The kitchen had all of the supplies you would need. The property is located within 30 minutes of Johnson Coty, Wimberly and Canyon Lake.

Amazing property

Girlfriend getaway perfect spot. The pool was closed for the season, and the hot tub was down after a storm but property management team was amazing with trying to fix it and having good communication. Would stay there again when it gets warmer for sure.

Review of Barnhoise property in Spring Branch

Lovely home. The road entering the property is very rough. The owner should disclose the road has washout areas. The driveway into the property should be graded. It would also be helpful to explain that internet is poor and sometimes the tv will work and sometimes it doesn’t.

Has potential… needs help

Mini split is full of black mold, internet doesn’t always work, issue with water well, housekeeping is not vacuuming, fans all need dusting etc… outside couch needs cleaning. Had high hopes for the place because of reviews. Feel like we wasted our time and money.
