The house was spacious and a good location right on the lake! We brought up two pontoons so having the dock worked perfect. Very comfortable for sleeping and had plenty of different options to hang out at the house. If you wanted to relax and watch tv, play yard games in the front or back, or just hang out in the garage. Was a great experience!

The property is beautiful with absolutely gorgeous views! There was plenty of space and sleeping arrangements. We particularly enjoyed being able to section off part off the house for when some people went to bed early but others were up later! Our whole family has already talked about coming back to this property again!

Making memories Summer 2025

My husband and I have been gifting our adult children a VRBO stay to a location of their choice. Everyone has to get there on their own. We all take responsibility of sharing the meal preparation while we are there. And then we all gather and let the memories start happening. A lot of games being played, puzzles being put together and precious time being spent with each other with no outside responsibilities interfering. Relaxed downtime!! Favorite week of the year!!! The VRBO had enough space for the 14 of us. We brought our boat and with the dock right out front was so nice. My son and several grandsons fished right off the dock and did catch some fish. The kayaks provided by the Property owner was a big bonus. The ping pong table was also a lot of fun. We were also so pleased that there was a grill there to use. Fun and special memories were enjoyed by everyone.

Cannot recommend enough

This place was amazing to stay at, got an amazingly quick response when we had a concern about the fridge leaking (sent someone out within 20 minutes), the home is beautiful & perfect location!! Cannot say enough good things!

Perfectly located with all the amenities you need. Very spacious with rooms for privacy and chat for various conversations along with an island kitchen to make everything fall smooth

Beautiful home

This is a beautiful home and worked out for our group. It was unfortunate some amenities were not available, but we are understanding of the recent flooding as some of us also live in NW Iowa and have also been affected. It would have been appreciated to receive communication on status of property before our arrival.

Perfect location for family reunion

The house is comfortable and nicely decorated. The neighborhood is very quiet and somewhat remote. Sleeping arrangements worked with some adjustments for multiple families involved. Having said that, the bedrooms were as advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed the ADA to Spirit Lake. The dock is superb, and the patio is comfortable, The hosts are wonderful to work with and quickly addressed a couple of minor problems. It is an older structure and a few repairs are in order, but overall it was a 5-star accommodation.

Annual Family Vacation

We had such a great time and really enjoyed the space. The views were beautiful and couldn’t have asked for a better location. Our only wish was that the water was a bit cleaner to swim in. Otherwise, a perfect place for a large family gathering!! It is much more beautiful than the pictures show. We will be back.

Lots of room for a large family

We stayed for an all-adult, family get-together. This is a big house with lots of sleeping space. The great location is accessible to all the local sites & attractions you expect at Lake Okoboji. The outdoor facilities are awesome. The owners were quick to respond and very helpful from start to finish. I ranked the cleaning 4/5 as we had a couple of minor issues that the owner offered to remedy right away (dirty socks in a drawer, the coffee maker still had grounds in it, and cobwebs) but we took care of them ourselves. The owners apologized. Nothing major that would ever stop us from returning and close to a 5/5 but not a 5/5. This is what I think needs to be clearer in the house description: the house is three bedrooms plus an open loft (which they describe) and a sun-type porch off the kitchen/breakfast area that has been converted into a bedroom. This sun porch windows have coverings but it also has double doors with full windows to the outside and into the kitchen, and no window coverings on either. So if you plan to use this as a bedroom understand there is zero privacy. It also was very warm in the room and I could not find an ac/heater vent. Overall this is a great place, I think there just needs to be some clarifications made on the description. I do recommend this home and we would stay again.

Nice quiet location

Went in Summer months. It was a nice location, close to walking path. Had 3 generations of family staying in home. Biggest complaint from all were the beds and the thick plastic coverings on them. The bed I wasn’t in was not the most comfortable to begin with but the thick plastic covering on was ridiculous.. Have stayed in other VRBOs and haven’t had this type of thick plastic covering mattress before. Also, for those having to sleep on loft side of A frame, no privacy.

Family Get Away

My entire family (17 total) stayed here over Labor Day weekend. We really enjoyed this property. The house is easy to get to and in a quiet neighborhood. Check in was super easy. There is plenty to do on the property and a walking/biking trail close. We brought a boat which was easy to put in and take out daily as the ramp is right down the road. There was plenty to space for everyone. Our only complaint was that the sleeping area on the patio has no curtains on the doors going outside or on the sliding door into the house. The loft area was quite warm also, but there is a fan provided which helped. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely stay at this property again.
