We ended up leaving the house early and going to a hotel, because every night after working 10-12 hours of extremely hard labor we had to work on something at the house. One of the beds kept breaking, the toilets all backed up, there were no trash bags, the handle fell off the stove, the back door wouldn’t shut, and we reported the issues, but no one came to help. I stay in homes all over the United States and almost every home has spices, a kind note with a bottle of water, directions on what to do during our stay/check out. They provided salt and pepper. We drove 14.5 hours and had to fix the bed before we could sleep in it! Almost all messages from the owner were automated. We reported the issues and a day later we received a generic message asking how our stay was going. We told them we were leaving early and they sent us a generated message two days later telling us they hoped we enjoyed our stay. They did reach out and said a member of their team would be contacting us to better understand our concerns. We gave our number and said to call any time, but no one has called. I haven’t checked to see if they refunded our 500 deposit, so we’ll see. We took very good care of the home. Ultimately, we are only there from about 6:30 at night until about 5:30 in the morning. Some of the beds were very comfortable. The neighborhood is nice and it’s a safe location.
