Incredible Time!

We came with our kids and grandkids and had the best 10 days! The location of the house to the beach was fantastic. The beach is a giant sandbar that you can walk forever and never find the end of. It was shallow and glorious on hot Bahama days. Having a pool at the house when we were done at the beach was even better! When we were done in the sand and salt, the pool was a welcome afternoon activity. We loved the outdoor shower and used it daily. Rachel and her son were welcoming and on top of anything we needed while we were there. The only negative is the bedroom/great room upstairs. It's not a room at all, but a landing that is open to the rest of the house with curtains for privacy. We had a one year old with us and that was the only area big enough for the pack and play and mom and dad, but did not serve well during naps or bedtime. The lack of an actual fourth bedroom could be stated clearer on the listing for people travelling with kids or wanting more privacy. Other than that we couldn't have asked for a better house or a better place to spend our vacation.

Book Sanctuary if it is available

Wow ! Rachel has thought of everything. Sanctuary is one of a kind super clean and everything you absolutely need and want. We just got back and staying at the Sanctuary made our amazing trip even so much more enjoyable. It was so nice to have the pool and outdoor space to wind down from the beach and hang out in the early morning and evening. This listing is usually not available so if you are lucky enough to have it available book it you won’t regret it!

A hidden gem

We absolutely loved our stay. The house is conveniently situated and perfect. We had 6 adults and the pool is a welcome tropical retreat, even when it’s windy on the beach. The host was attentive to our needs, and a pleasure to deal with. Happily recommend.

Beautiful spa like villa with pool

We truly enjoyed our stay at Sanctuary cottage. The house was exactly as described. We had 3 couples the first week and 2 couples the following weeks. Plenty of room for more. We cook all our meals and the kitchen was perfect for this task. Beds were super comfy. My Son said it was the most comfortable beds he has slept in yet. The back yard was amazing. Spa like waterfall, outdoor kitchen with sink and refrigerator. Gas grill to cook all those yummy lobster tails. Pool was beautiful and refreshing. Great for days when it’s too windy at the beach or great to cool off after the beach. I spent way too much time napping and reading on the outside couch. We had a few gatherings with our friends also vacationing on island.. Everyone was very impressed with its beauty. Did I mention it also has a cabana with a toilet and shower? Great for an outdoor shower. Rachael, the manager was wonderful. She met us at the dock and was easy to reach with any questions. This is our sixth rental in 10 years on Spanish wells and it is one our favorite. Also, it’s an quick walk out the back of the property to the amazing North shore beach. Enjoy!

Spanish Wells Santuary

What a wonderful home and kind, caring and compassionate home owner.From the moment we arrived in Spanish Wells at the harbor Rachel, the homeowner was there waiting for us with our rental golf cart.She escorted us to Sanctuary Cottage and gave us a tour of house and we were blown away by the beauty.It is even better than the pictures. Well appointed, clean and comfortable.Great location, close to the beach, and other activities.Rachel was just the most attentive hostess and so helpful.She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed.I would highly recommend a stay at Sanctuary Cottage

Spectacular Spaniah Wells

Everything on listing was accurate, and the place was perfect layout for our fam of 7..grandparents parents and 3 grandchildren. The kids loved the golf cart adventures, the chickens ans roosters, and bunnies in the yard. Weve been coming to bahamas for last 30 years usually the more isolated various family islands this was our first time to SW and it was very different experience but we loved it. The beach is a 8 min walk or 4 min golf cart ride and there is a playground at the church next door. It was a very enjoyable experince, The cottage was well laid out, we have never rented a place with a pool in bahamas but it was a bonus as we had cooler jan weather and We paid for heating it. alot of time was spent in it after windy cool beac days and cooler nights. The kids loved it.The manager Rachel was extremely helpful and made our trip smooth, she helped orchestrate getting on and off island and attended to all of our questions and any needs we had. She was truly amazing person and we were greatful for her guidance and help. It was a pleasure meeting her. Great place, new bahamas experinec fir us!

Spanish Wells is such a unique place and so is Sanctuary Cottage. The pool made our stay with the kids so much more enjoyable. The island is so charming. Be sure to get ice cream every night. We will definitely be back!

Paradise at its best

Everything we needed and wanted. Lots of room to socialize or have quiet time. Close to the beach , food, drink and shopping. Sanctuary cottage is someplace that we plan on taking our entire family again. Did I mention we had a back yard paradise as well, full bath with windows opening into the garden and a pool. We hosted a family luncheon with 13 people and did not need to purchase anything but the food and some of that what caught by those who decided to fish or go Welking. Thank you Rachel.

Great Place to Stay on Spanish Wells!!!

The Sanctuary Cottage was the perfect place to stay for our trip. The home was very clean, well kept, and provided everything we needed for a great trip. Having a pool to plop into at the end of a day after being out on a boat, in the sea/sand/sun, was amazing. You can’t beat the location… right in the middle of everything. Rachel was an amazing host. She jumped through hoops for us a couple of times with a genuine “no problem” smile on her face. For a family of 5 the house was perfect… could even accommodate more if needed. If considering renting this place don’t think twice!

Sanctuary Cottage

After our first visit to Spanish Wells in 2023, we knew we absolutely had to return this year and stay on the island. We also knew we wanted to bring family with us to share our new found secret vacation spot. Finding Sanctuary Cottage was great decision. The house had everything we needed and then some. Bringing two toddlers along for the trip, we knew they would need a break from the beach heat/sun, so having the pool at the house was an amazing way to continue enjoying water time, but with some much needed shade. Rachel was amazing. She met us at the dock and helped us get tons of luggage transported to the house and back at the end of the week. She ensured we had everything we needed and gave us the grand tour to get settled in. There was fear the island water may be off for a day and she brought many gallons of water biy to make sure we were well stocked up. The beach and grocery store are only a block away and ultra convenient to the house. If you are lucky enough to find this property available for your trip dates, you should definitely book with Rachel too! Thanks again Rachel!! Until next time!

Amazing Stay at Sanctuary Cottage

I stayed here with my family in the beginning of May(myself, husband, daughter and her boyfriend and our son). When I think of the perfect beach cottage, Sanctuary Cottage would be it! It’s a comfortable, classy beach cottage with all the modern amenities. Beautifully decorated and very well equipped with just about everything you would need. We are beach people, but the pool was great to have after spending the day at the beach. The location is great, with in walking distance to the best beach access and the grocery store. We rented a golf cart to get around all of Spanish Wells and Russel Island. We spent evenings at the church lot too playing pickle ball and basketball ball. We can’t wait to come back and stay here! Thank you Rachel for sharing your amazing rental!

Amazing vacation

We spent 16 nights over March break/Easter at the wonderful Sanctuary Cottage. Our group consisted of myself and husband, 2 teen daughters and my parents. Everyone had plenty of space to relax and spread out. The main floor has a dining table to comfortably seat 8, living room, well appointed kitchen, coffee area, double bedroom, bathroom and laundry room. Upstairs is a large loft style king bedroom (or 2 twins) with curtains for privacy, bathroom and 2 more queen bedrooms along with a living area that has a twin/twin daybed that sleeps 2 more. Beds were all very comfortable. Individual air conditioners in each room. Plenty of towels for everyone including pool/beach towels. We appreciated having the kitchen basics of oils, Saran, seasonings etc. and all of the bathroom extras. The private backyard oasis has a covered living area and 2 dining areas, an amazing pool with waterfall, lounge chairs, propane grill, outdoor sink and fridge, and a pool cabana with a full bathroom. There is also an outdoor shower in the yard. There are plenty of beach and pool toys, beach umbrella & chairs, towels and coolers. The yard has plenty of coconut trees, banana etc. and the gardens are stunning. The location was amazing and central. We were a 2 minute walk to the most amazing and huge beach, and same to the grocery store. I definitely recommend renting a golf cart. I would absolutely recommend renting this beautiful house from Rachel. She was a wonderful host and has thought of everything.

March Escape

We loved Spanish Wells and enjoyed our three week stay at Sanctuary Cottage! It was close to beach and a short golf cart ride to restaurants and supermarket. When we weren’t on the beach, we spent most of our time in outdoor area and pool. The outdoor bath was a favorite! We did a full day excursion with Sheldon of Exotic Adventures. You can design your day and I highly recommend. Try the upstairs bar at the Shipyard. Leroy is the best and the views are great. Sunrises and sunsets are a must as well. Thank you Rachel!!

Amazing Cottage

What a lovely cottage. Rachel has it so we'll equipped, and so cutely decorated. And the pool and patio are wonderful and private. It's about 2 blocks to the beach, and 2 to the local grocery store. Perfect location. We stayed 10 nights and had a very relaxing vacation.

Perfect House - Awesome Host

The house is perfectly laid out, spacious and everything we needed and more. The house has a lush garden with a private pool that my group and I thoroughly enjoyed especially after long days at the beaches. The air-conditioners functioned very efficiently and this is an important feature while on a summer vacation. Rachel is amazing! Super responsive and a wonderful hostess. Would definitely recommend!

Rent with confidence! The house is great, the pool is relaxing, Rachel is a breeze to work with, and Spanish Wells is a safe, beautiful little slice of Heaven.

A True Sanctuary
