Stars for easy beach access and first floor for elderly dog access (blessing in disguise as upstairs renters sounded like stomping giants around 6 every morning - Yay for a restful vacation, not).
NO TV. It was laughable. 3 kids under 8, cold rainy long holiday weekend.
We rented for Thanksgiving and as Texans we wanted to watch football! And it was cold and raining! Nope!!! No TV!!! Listing has/advertise direct tv. We attempted to resolve the issue and it was never fixed. The Vacasa help person said that the main unit/box to make the WHOLE SYSTEM function was in the unit ***upstairs*** which we WERE NOT LOCATED IN. They said they would reach out to the upstairs renters to troubleshoot and I replied “well it looks like they just left” since we saw them leave. How can you charge >$200 per night and then expect the renter to have to rely on a complete stranger to help troubleshoot a basic and advertised feature of the rental!?!? Who can tell if the upstairs renter purposefully disabled the unit so their own kids couldn’t access tv? ALSO, the Vacasa help recommend we go to a Redbox and they would reimburse us for the video rental HAHAHAHA there as NO TV remote in the family room therefore it was impossible to change the input. We tried the master bedroom TV and there were no cords to actually connect the dvd player to the tv (there were random cords but none served to connect the dvd player to the tv). My husband actually laughed, threw his hands up and asked me “did we really pay $1200 to rent this place?!?”
NO vacuum as advertised.
NO beach towels (in my humble opinion this should be spelled out as it is a beach rental).
BE AWARE OF THE BATHROOM ADJACENT TO KIDS ROOM (it was not obvious in the photos and the description that there are tile stairs down into the bathroom connected to the bedroom with the bunk beds (This could be treacherous for young families). Also the bathroom light in that bathroom never did work. We only had the light from the shower in that bathroom.
We left a day early.
We got the check out instructions on Sunday after we were already home. They offered about $140 for the inconvenience. We really should have been offered at least one day rental and then some.
We cleaned up everything and followed the instructions exactly.
This was the first time I’ve complained about a rental via vrbo. All past rentals have been great. No Vacasa ever again!!!
