Welcome to our log cabin in the woods—perfectly situated at the end of a quiet street with direct access to the Saxon Creek Trail, acres of forest, and miles of hiking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing right from the front door.
What we love most about this home is the privacy. The true mountain escape feel, surrounded by towering pines with peaceful forest views from inside, including several bedrooms. With two spacious open-concept living areas, there’s plenty of room to spread out, relax in the hot tub, or enjoy a competitive game of pool.
Recently expanded with two additional bedrooms and one bathroom, the home now offers 6 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, accommodating up to 15 guests (8 adults plus up to 7 children ages 5 and under). With 9 beds plus a couple of twin rollaway beds, it’s an ideal retreat for multi-family groups, especially those traveling with young children.
While the cabin feels secluded and tucked away from the hustle and bustle, it’s conveniently located just 8 miles from town and 7 miles from the lake, with easy access to Heavenly, Sierra at Tahoe, beaches, grocery stores, and restaurants.
***The two additional bedrooms (each with a queen bed) and the 3rd full bathroom are being completed now. The project is on track to finish May 20th, but there is a chance these two bedrooms and one bathroom will be closed off for the rest of May. Please reach out if making a May reservation and we can check and make sure the home is as desired before booking.***

KITCHEN: Fully equipped kitchen with gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and everything needed to prepare a holiday feast! A large island separates it and the great room, making the space perfect for gathering and entertaining.
The dining table with seating for 8 (with extra seating at the island) is perfect for gathering with friends and family over a home-cooked meal.

There are also three cots (two in the pool table room closet and one in the master bedroom) for extra sleeping if needed. Pillows, sheets and comforters included. ***Note, these are what the listing calls "sofa beds" in the listing, but they are movable and single person cots.

HOSPITALITY: Hospitality is reflected in our home, and includes the following amenities: * Clean, inspected, warm, accessible and staged home awaits * Early Check-in / Late Checkout may be available * 24/7 support available * Direct entry * Hot tub water professionally serviced before each guest, and during longer visits * All sheets, towels, and bedding provided * Soaps, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, trash bags, dishwasher detergent, and more provided * Hot iron pressed sheets * Iron * Washer and dryer, detergent provided * Bear box for trash management * Daily snow removal as needed during the winter
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: * Absolutely no fires of any sort are allowed on the property or in the Tahoe basin. * Pet friendly (with approval and pet fee) * No more than 8 guests plus up to 7 additional children 5 years old and younger are allowed. * Per the local El Dorado County ordinance, noise must be kept respectful at all times, especially between the 10pm and 8am quiet period. * The county doesn't allow hot tub use between 10pm and 8am * 5 cars MAX - No exception. No street parking per county ordinance - could result in towing and major fines * Please put trash in on-site bear box * Surveillance: may have camera for monitoring the driveway and exterior of the home for safety and security purposes. No monitoring inside. May also have decibel monitoring devices (nothing decreeable) to ensure we're in compliance with the local noise ordinance. We expect all guests to be respectful, mature, and responsible. There is a zero tolerance policy abusive and negligent guests, loud groups, etc. If you want to squeeze 25 people into a house and party hard, this is not it. This is a tasteful, and well appointed home - please treat it as your own.
This said, we are open to mature individuals who want to party but know how to treat other people and their things with respect. NO LOUD or LATE PARTIES.
Guests agree to comply with El Dorado County's Vacation Home Rental ordinances and our rental agreement (emailed separately), and failing to do so, or violation of home rules in the listing, may result in egregious penalties, forfeiture of security deposit, and even eviction. Quiet Retreat
A lovely home with plenty of ambiance and excellent amenities. Quiet, private location. Great base for day trips either around the lake loop road or to Yosemite. Short drive to all South Lake Tahoe restaurants, shopping, gaming and Lake Tahoe itself.

Dont pass on this spot
Great location next to a wooded area with trails. Very clean house with plenty of room. Enjoyed having white sheets and towels. Very nice bethroom amenities. Would definitely recommend this house

Great home!
Great house. No AC but with the weather you don’t need any. If it’s a little hot just open the windows are you’ll be cooled off in no time.

Lovely house in South Lake Tahoe
We had a nice stay at this South Lake Tahoe house. There is a lot of space for 2 families and the kitchen was well stocked. Some of the cabinets in the kitchen need repair and the oven/stove may need to be replace soon. The other appliances work great. There is a fireplace and a heater which was great during the cold winter. We had a nice time with our friends and the pool table was a hit.
