Peace & Tranquility

We enjoyed a fully furnished home located in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful tall trees all around. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and the bedrooms were all very nice. No doubt we would stay here again!

Lovely home. So nice to have stocked with the basics: paper towels, dish detergent etc..

Great house with a great layout for families. Beautiful kitchen & deck. It would definitely rent it again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Grand Cabin Paradise rental lives up to its name! From our first interaction until checkout, the host was informative, friendly, and delivered everything as promised and more. The cabin is spacious and well equipped, with comfortable furnishings, beautiful living and sleeping areas, nice amenities, and modern touches while keeping the woodsy feel with the lovely gas burning fireplace and retro decor. Convenient to town and skiing, but away from main roads and traffic, it has a neighborhood feel. Since it is located a few roads in, having a 4WD vehicle is essential if conditions include heavy snow or ice. Keeping in mind the cleaning crew needs time to prep the home for guests, even an hour earlier/later for check-in/check-out would be nice, especially to accommodate the host’s reasonable and minimal requests. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and appreciated the extra touches, nice bath products, generous towels, enough seating for all in the living room and dining area, the games cupboard, and if we had little ones, they would have enjoyed the snow saucers in the garage! Highly recommend this lovely property and this responsive, trustworthy host!

Terrific stay!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Pioneer Trail place. The house was in a great location, far away enough from the Stateline but close enough (less than 15 min drive) if you want to go there. The place had all the modern amenities for a relaxing stay. Plenty of cooking supplies which made it easy to dine in with 3 younger children. We made used of the BBQ and enjoy eating out on the deck looking over the spacious backyard. Great communication with our host and easy check in. Would love to come back.

Christmas Vacation

Our stay at this property was absolutely perfect. We traveled with our family from Hawaii to experience a White Christmas. The house was just as it was featured In the photos. The living area was open and comfortable. The fireplace came in handy for the cold weather. The kitchen was well equipped with pots and pans, which was great since we cooked most of our meals. Everything was very clean with cleaning supplies on hand if needed. The location was perfect for commuting to Heavenly, not more than a 15 minute drive. The yard was spacious and we got to play in the snow in the front yard. Overall we were very satisfied with the home and would definitely stay there again.

Great place to stay

The beds weren't the most comfortable in the world, and make sure to bring eye masks. The water pressure in the upstairs shower was so strong it felt like standing under a thousand needles. That said everything else about the house was wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the winter, and we definitely want to return sometime in the summer to fully enjoy the backyard

A few suggestions: swap washer dryer door, remove shelf at end of garage steps(pinch point), and make mention of no AC for those of us coming from warmer climates and used to a cool home, a fan for ach room, and the light switches could be labeled?

First, three of us were stung by wasps that live in the block wall adjacent to the entry steps. Secondarily, the floor on the main level was not clean upon arrival. It's a good home that easily accommodated the six of us.

Amenities

All of us agree the property was in a good neighborhood and close to everything within a few minute drive. However, the outside sitting areas in the yard had plastic chairs that were all broken. The covers over the patio furniture was ripped and allowed water to collect on everything rendering all of the outside seating useless. The home itself had four bedrooms and enough space for all six of us to feel comfortable for several days. There was not enough toilet paper and paper towels. Additionally, there was not enough towels for a group of six, we had to wash multiple times which is nice. There was no hose on the property to wash our bikes and shoes after hiking and biking from getting them all muddy from the trails. We would stay there again, however we would expect the seating areas outside to be updated with usable seats and better covers on the patio seating.

Tahoe conditions are hard to predict when booking!

We were planning a ski weekend with friends and had booked this house and some ski lessons for our newbie skiers. Unfortunately, with the record NYE snowfall, roads and resorts suddenly being closed, we barely got to play in the snow, and instead spent a bit of time clearing snow. Otherwise, the house was great, if a bit overpriced given the additional fees and the new tax rate effective in 2023 imposed by the management company. The house itself is very nice and since we spent a lot of time indoors, we got to take advantage of the gas fireplace, the ample well-stocked kitchen, and the common areas hanging out and playing games with friends. There weren't enough dining chairs for our 8 guests, so we had to utilize the island bar area when we shared meals. The thermostat seemed to be on the top floor, so when it was warm upstairs (because the fireplace was on), it was rather cold downstairs where three of the bedrooms are. All appliances worked well, and the internet was a work-horse since were trapped indoors a lot of the time. Overall, it is a really great house not far from where we wanted to be, but barely made it to! The vrbo part of the booking was seamless. We've never stayed at a property that has a separate property manager company - RnR in this case - so it's not clear if there were any hiccups. There were extra fees and security deposits associated with the management company taking over the booking, but overall, it worked out ok. It was clear who to contact with problems - including when the power went out for 5 hours and we needed to find some lanterns/flashlights/candles.
