This house was great for our group of friends and family gathered for a wedding on the island - there was plenty of room for all of us to gather in the kitchen, relax in the living room, find a quiet corner to read a book, or dedicated space for work. The views out the back windows are stunning and since the fall weather was perfect during our stay, we enjoyed an evening around the backyard fire pit under the full moon.

This house is absolutely beautiful! Clean and well supplied! The furnishings with all their details were gorgeous. The lake view is spectacular. The communication with the owner and property manager were the best I have had with a Vrbo rental. Thank you for a wonderful get away.

Lovely Views and Plenty of Space

Our family enjoyed our week on South Hero. The house provided plenty of space for our multi-generational family to spread out and relax. We enjoyed evenings by the fire overlooking the lake to the east, with views of Mt. Mansfield and Camels Hump. The kitchen was well stocked with dishware and everything needed to prepare home cooked meals. Best of all, the home's caretaker, Star was exceptional in ensuring we had everything we needed, even coming to drop off a new grill during our stay, which had been damaged in a wind storm. High recommended.

Beautiful! What a gem!!

I planned to rent the house as place to have dinner with my family for my dads 60th birthday. Unfortunately COVID got in the way of all that. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the house and made the most of it. Spacious and everything we could have asked for. The owner and manager were kind and prompt with their responses (nothing went wrong). Would LOVE to stay here again. The view over the lake was amazing 🙌🏼

Great Property and views. Needs better upkeep.

The views are gorgeous. The layout of the house is great, especially if you have different couples. The issue is upkeep. I paid premium pricing for this stay and was disappointed. If it had been mid-tier, I would have said this is par for the course. The circuit breakers popped every hour we watched tv in the main living room which was a pain with kids and during the World Series and also popped multiple times upstairs in one of the bedrooms, all kitchen sinks leaked or drained slow, landscaping was not maintained, and the property manager did not run the water before we checked in so there was a sulfur smell until we turned on all faucets for 45 mins. The washer worked but the dryer was broken and the only working dryer was in the basement which was off limits. Also while the home was tidy it could use better cleaning of beetles, spiders, ticks etc. We live on a wooded lot and know the difference between random bugs and lack of thorough cleaning. Bugs were in every room. The owners asked us if we wanted an electrician and a plumber to come by but 1) I kinda feel that not my job to have service people traipsing in on our vacation when we paid a premium price and 2) with small children and us being there three only days, we were not comfortable with that.

Beautiful Home - needs attention to details

We rented this home 3 years ago and had to cancel it twice due to Covid. Our family still wanted to spend our vacation there, due to its unique location, and so we did. This home is quite beautiful - built the way homes should be: with style and substance, and the location is pastoral, with great views of Lake Champlain. It is quiet on S. Hero Island. The furnishings are just as interesting as the house - aesthetically, this home is a “home-run” in my opinion. That being said, we had some surprises both before we arrived and when we arrived. Before we arrived, there was a breakdown in communications as to how we would get inside this house. There is a registration process for this owners’ insurance coverage, that we never were able to complete. Fortunately, I began the process earlier than necessary, as communicating with the owner, who is very, very busy, was difficult. We did finally get the code to the keyless entry the day before we left Ohio. I received the entry code from the owner after I contacted Evolve. This might not seem like a big deal, but we lost a lot of confidence in this owner when he did not follow-through as he said he would. When we arrived at the house, we found that the air conditioning units in the house were portable stand alone units in each bedroom as well as a through the wall unit in the dining room. The dining room A/c was fine. The bedrooms however, are vented through the bedroom windows. They are loud, and you must turn them off and close the window when it rains. This was disappointing in the upstairs bedrooms especially when it rained - As for the plumbing, the drains were slow in the kitchen, there was a strange odor in the Jack and Jill bathroom and there was an airlock in the waterlines. Nothing too earth shattering here, but these are maintenance issues that should be dealt with before guests arrive. There are a couple of safety issues: no railing down the basement steps, the end of the boat dock is unstable.

Vermont Retreat

Beautiful views, great location! I didn’t like the additional check in requirements from the Evolve Team. Didn’t receive my access code and was scrambling at the last minute to get in. I would have given 5 stars for cleanliness if not for all the flies and spiders we had to kill.

Had some rainy weather but house was Awesome. We found all we needed in restaurants grocery and beverages within 8 miles on the islands. The multiple sitting areas were all used as we gathered or puzzled or read. Highly recommended for view and comfort

Exquisite Vermont accommodations

Our multi generation group loved every aspect of this home. The setting, amenities and convenience were perfect. The kitchen was well stocked with every possible cooking implement, and the grounds were perfect for spending time outdoors. The caretaker was so accommodating and concerned about our comfort. I would definitely recommend this property!

Beautiful quiet location with incredible view!

Our family and friends totally enjoyed this property for all of it’s comforts and breathtaking views. Any commutations with the property manage were immediately responded to and taken care of. I will rent this property to share with other friends it’s incredible beauty and would recommend to anyone should they have the opportunity!!!

Gorgeous home. Right on the banks of Lake Champlain. Owner and property manager couldn’t do enough.

Spectacular home. Beautifully appointed. Gorgeous views from every window. Quiet but minutes from S. Hero downtown area with restaurants, golf, shops, etc. short drive to Burlington. Owner and property Manager couldn’t do enough to make our experience 5 star. Great stay!!

Great house in a wonderful setting

We were 7 adults, 2 parents and 5 adult children. We spent our days riding bikes around the Hero islands. The roads are well paved, have very little traffic and provide great views of the lake, mountains and farmland. Wine tasting at nearby Snow Farm vineyards was an unexpected treat. The house had room for all of us to relax, enjoy dinners and the two office spaces provide privacy to work when necessary. The yard furniture was great for morning coffee watching the sun come up over the lake, and the gas grill was perfect for preparing dinner. We'd come back whenever we're in this part of Vermont.

Amazing views

The house was very clean, property management was very responsive and location was breathtaking. I would recommend replacing the red furniture as it is extremely uncomfortable and warm out.

Great Weekend

My friends and I had a great weekend staying at this beautiful house. Evolve and their property managers were very helpful, accommodating, and quick responding. Made things a lot easier. The house was great, even in the February cold. Spacious kitchen and living room to hang out in. The pool table added to the fun as well. A little less than a half hour ride to downtown Burlington. Thank you for having us, we would gladly stay again!

Great Vacation!

We had a great experience! The view is absolutely gorgeous in the morning! The house is very comfortable and feels like home. We were thinking to go back to Vermont for a couple days in the summer and see this exceptional view again! The house is very spacious and meets all your needs. Just by sitting on the couch we felt refreshed. We really recommend this house!!!

Great weekend away

We had an absolutely amazing time staying here for a girls weekend. The house was super clean and the views of Lake Champlain were breathtaking. We did have one minor problem with the well/pump but the property manager got right back to me and the issue was resolved right away. It’s an amazing property - certainly a hidden gem. We were even dreaming of future trips back to the house maybe in the summer time! The vrbo description should be updated though that there is no yoga room anymore, that was one thing we were looking forward to. Would definitely recommend this house!!!

Great house with an amazing view!

Our week long stay in South Hero was wonderful! The house is too good to be true... spacious, great kitchen for cooking, and lovely sitting rooms and a huge backyard with amazing views of beautiful Lake Champlain. The caretakers met us when we arrived and I know they would have met all our needs IF we needed anything. We didn't!
