Wow, what a find!

Beautiful spot. Terrific walks, access to the river of fly fishing is of interest, close access to everything in town but secluded.

Good location for skiing

Southfork is not the place to stay if you want to dine out, but we brought most of our food with us, cooked each evening and property is well equipped for that. Comfortable, clean, quiet, plenty of room for a family. Our kids were next door so it was a great arrangement.

Great location

Clean, efficient and a great location right on the river. Good quality kitchen hardware and nice to have a keurig upstairs. It was also nice to have the garage available for any weather issues. Property has a different arrangement with living area (tv room and office) being upstairs with the bedroom, but it worked fine for just the two of us. Only negative would be the chairs in the office area have seen better days.

Wonderful location and furnishings.

Perfect for a fit couple, seeking beautiful tranquil setting. Many up-market features. Be aware that sleeping is on second floor, second bath is on first. Master suite is lavish. Some previously cited minor criticisms still remain: waste needs to be carried away and at a trivial fee, but annoying and posted instructions that seem to be the inspiration for the Hilton Hotel commercial which featured VRBO-style property which prohibited "monkey business" and "wearing plaids Master suite is in the road side: road is lightly traveled but traffic might be annoying to late sleepers who like windows open. That said, for the right party, this is a spectacular stay at a great value...maybe none better in South Fork.

Riverside, easy mountain access

Layout is a bit odd. Dining area not functional. Beautiful views of river but mostly blocked from inside. Light system is difficult to use. Most of the kitchen utensils, pots and pans were not clean. No trash disposal on site and off site disposal instructions were wrong so we had to pay to drop our trash off at a local store - unacceptable.

Great Townhome on the River

Great Townhome!! We actually owned this Townhome about 12 years ago and have not set foot in it since. Brought back great memories being there on the river, looks as good as it did when we had it all those years ago, experienced no problems and it is very much worth the price! From my experience being in South Fork, these are the best townhomes in town, actually there is no comparison! The only thing I would suggest is on the trash, just tell the people to Bag it up, leave it in the garage, and have your caretaker or someone go down to Rainbow Grocery to dispose of it. That’s what I did when I rented it out and you’ll be surprised, you will never have a complaint on that place! Thanks for a great retreat from Okla heat!

Nice Place, Ridiculous Rules

The place is nice and well kept, for the most part. There is a sitting area upstairs that looks down on the river and the windows were covered in dirt residue, they look like they haven't been cleaned in years. As others have stated, there is 2 page list of rules on the refrigerator along with notes placed all over the house. The cleaning fee is $210 and you have to strip the beds, put the towels and sheets in the laundry room, remove all the trash and haul it away yourself. What is the $210 for you have to do half of the cleaning yourself? Don't forget to sweep out the garage if you park in there otherwise you will get charged an extra $50. Neither the ice maker nor the trash compactor worked, there was a note stating such. The internet didn't work either, good luck if you need to do some work while you are away.

The property was comfortable and cozy. My family and I very much enjoyed out time while we were staying at this property. I can recommend it highly.

High End Home

Nice property with some interesting features like zone lighting and whole house sound system. Nice furniture and with nice furnishings. The upstairs is a great place to hang out with great views of the mountains and the Rio Grande River which is right outside the back door. Nice patio area. The garage is a big plus with its tall entry. I could park my lifted 4Runner inside out of the winter cold. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Very nice getaway. A couple easy improvements needed though!

The unit is nice. There are signs of wear though. We stayed in the same unit 4 years ago, and absolutely everything was the same. The things that caused me to take away a star. 1. The building management has a note on the counter instructing to turn the heat to 55 when checking out. We arrived late on our check in day. Well after dark. The unit was set to 55. It was really cold inside! Took hours to get up to 72 degrees inside. 2. Bedroom two has no heat source. When the pocket doors are closed for privacy, there is no heat in the room. The room was probably 55 degrees by the morning. 3. ICE! The only snow and ice we encountered in south fork are on the driveway of the unit. Cars skid, and unfortunately one of our travel party took a really hard fall on the driveway while getting in the car. 4. Small thing, but no garage door opener provided. Have to navigate the ice to get to the door, to go inside and open the garage door from the wall. 5. Small thing. For the price of the unit, garbage service should be included. You have to take trash to he local convenience store and pay to dispose of it.

Riverside retreat

Loved fishing right out the back door. Home was comfortable for family of four. Amenities were all there. Garbage is a issue especially for those who want to depart early. We ended up having to make two trips because we forgot to empty fridge. We had a packed vehicle so first round of garbage we took before we packed the truck, 2nd load had to ride in a kids lap. Cleaning fees usually handle this type of thing. I did see in a previous review about the garbage so I anticipated it but it was not convenient.

Great location! Very nice condo!

Very nice place! Very clean, very well stocked! Easy check in. Good in-home info. The location is unbeatable. Since our visit, I went back and reviewed the property and reviews again. A common complaint is about the guests being required to bag, haul off and pay for garbage removal. I think it is reasonable to pay for it (we all know garbage service isn't free). However, having to bag it, haul it and pay for it at the end of the visit and in preparation for a long day of travel left us a little displeased (as other guests have written). Suggestion: just add a little to the cleaning fee and ask the cleaning staff to handle it. This would be much appreciated by your guests who are sad to leave but preparing for travel.

Great place by the river

This place was what I was hoping for. A nice quiet place on the river. Everything was well thought through which made it easy to just relax and enjoy. Great location for day excursions in Creede and Pagosa Springs.

Quiet & Peaceful

We loved being able to step out the back door to the Rio Grande river. The unit was very nicely furnished and well thought out. Even though it only has one bedroom, the office with doors and a good quality Murphy bed worked well as a 2nd bedroom. The kitchen was well furnished with everything we needed. The owners have done a good job to make it comfortable.
