Beautiful House with Ocean View

Our family had a fantastic July 4th weekend staying at this property. Not only the house has a game room with pool table and air hockey table, the rental house also came with kayaks and one paddle board for the guests to use. Our favorite place to hang out is the beautiful newly renovated kitchen/dining room and the patio that has the best view of the sunset. We can't wait to go back!

Perfect location

With two levels of living space overlooking the Long Island Sound it was the perfect space and backdrop for all the prep and merriment for our daughter’s wedding at Giorgio’s on Saturday. I also totally enjoyed relaxing and unwinding the deck on Sunday evening with a spectacular sunset!

Recent visit for nearby wedding

Perfect location for nearby wedding (Old Field Club in East Setauket) and for places to shop and explore. Beautiful view , comfortable for the 6 of us. Would stay there again.

Sound Beach LI Getaway

We were 7 adults away for a 4 night trip. House is roomy, beautiful, well stocked with a stunning view. Everyone said beds were comfy & they slept well. We cooked/grilled all our meals and found everything we needed in the kitchen. The deck is the real star, big enough for outdoor meals and chilling/chatting while taking in the gorgeous ocean view and night sunsets. We took advantage of golf/vineyards nearby and the 2 days we went to the beach, it's a quick walk around the corner. We did not want it to end!

Not worth the price

The property was much more dated than what the photos conveyed. The location was good with nice views, but the property itself had few issues that were not great for us: - No hot tub even though it was originally listed as having one - owner has since taken it off the listing - might've just been a mistake - First main floor had a strong curry / cooked spices smell - while basement was better but still had a little bit of new paint smell. - Windows/screens were dirty, had holes, or partially broken - this mattered because we were trying to air out the smell but really couldn't leave it open for long so bugs/flies don't come in. - While main kitchen and parts of bathrooms were new - most of the furniture and house were very dated and basic. There was even water dripping that clearly had been going on for awhile that left a big mark on the sofa. - Note the beach that is walkable is not really swimmable - but that's probably known for most people. Net net - for maybe 2 families who want basic place to stay / sleep and have separation (upstairs and downstairs) this might be a good fit, and some people might find the pleasant views and location outweigh the quality of the house itself - but it was not for us for the price paid.

Lovely

The property is lovely. We were in the area for a family wedding and definitely enjoyed our stay. (They could use a few more washcloths, especially considering it sleeps up to 12.) Otherwise we found everything we needed. The view is beautiful, the neighborhood, and the beach too.

Our stay at this property on Sound Beach was amazing. The views are spectacular. There are plenty of restaurants within a few mile radius. The house was clean and spacious. Check in was easy. Plenty of parking. Quiet neighborhood.

Family visit

This house was a very good match for my family of 4. -Great communication with the owner… and even better, no real need to communicate with the owner. Shay contacted me before I even got on my flight (out of state travelers) to give me the directions to enter the property. The home was easy to find and has designated parking right in front. Once inside, the home has a book of useful information about the property and the surrounding area. -the home is clean and had most of the things that you’d expect. -Accurate listing. The description of the property and the photos are accurate. It’s a beautiful home with amazing views. One side of the house does share a wall but the inside and outside feel isolated. The interior is casual/eclectic, not fussy, nor pretentious. (For the parents) I didn’t have to move baubles to higher places. If you want fancy/luxury, this is not it. The exterior sliding doors and shower door are a little wonky. -comfortable bedding -I love when a house has books. -I also like that the only tv was in the game room downstairs. -Kids: The kid’s room has some toys and books, which was a really nice treat for my littles. They also really liked that there was a tiny dining table for them. The play set was definitely enjoyed. The back and front yard are fenced and I felt safe having a 3 and 6 yr play in them. Balcony also felt safe for children. -there was plenty of space to host local family for dinner

Pretty sound views

This home had lovely views of the sound. House is roomy and so is the back deck. Enjoyed staying here a few nights with girlfriends and visiting nearby wineries. Neighborhood is cute as are surrounding towns. House is a split family house so at times we heard the guests/residents next door. House had all necessary amenities. Overall, a nice relaxing stay.

Wonderful home with incredible views

This vacation house is so comfortable, it felt like home. Well-appointed, we had everything we needed for the perfect stay! There are some signs of wear and tear, but nothing unexpected from it being a waterfront rental. The views of the sound are absolutely amazing, and we really enjoyed the private beach. There are a lot of rocks getting in and out of the water, but wearing water shoes helped. Wish the outside shower had worked, but we found the garden hose. Our group unanimously agrees we would love to stay here again!

Wonderful quiet location, views, could use a good cleaning

Overall we enjoyed our stay. We were three adult couples and found the bedrooms to be a nice size and the beds very comfortable. The deck was lovely and very private. The house was easy to find in a cute neighborhood, entry was easy (key in lockbox). There is a second rental unit attached but a privacy wall on the deck so no issues. The beach access was further away than we anticipated and is monitored by security so be prepared to show credentials (which the owner leaves for you). The house is showing wear and tear of years as a rental. Our biggest complaint was the cleanliness - the counters were sticky, the kitchen floors were dirty, anything hanging from the ceiling was dust -covered, we pulled dusty platters off the top of the fridge to use only to find roaches. The screens on windows had large holes so we had a lot of flying bugs in the house. The dining table had large seams that are full of crumbs. I strongly urge the owners to perform a good deep cleaning - after that it has potential to be a great place.

Fits all family requirements

We had a baby, toddler and a work from home situation. There was enough space to nap kids and still enjoy visiting with adult family. The deck was wonderful providing scenic water views. The neighborhood was quiet and we enjoyed walking around. Grocery store, deli markets and ice cream shop a short drive away.

A wonderful respite for the whole family

We visited this lovely house early in the season and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet surroundings and stunning view of the LI Sound. The house was well supplied and the rustic beach community made for a relaxing getaway. The beds were very comfortable and did I mention the view?? We found a great little Italian pizzeria closeby, Marinellis, with amazing Italian food and walked down the 100 steps to the nearby beach. The whole family enjoyed it!

Long Island trip

Our family enjoyed our time at this property. The views are wonderful from inside and outside the property. There was enough room for all of us comfortably, and check in was very easy. The biggest negative would be the beds are very uncomfortable. I would suggest upgrading or adding some foam mattresses.
