We are on the same page as we had all of the improvements in the pipeline and this last week were able to coordinate replacing all the mattresses in the house with Bear brand mattresses which are engineered to aid in athletic recovery but also provide comfort for all types. We have added writing desks to all the bedrooms if people would like to have remote work privacy and added a table and chairs to our loft space which can be used for games, schoolwork, or as another remote work area. As for pillows - there are a wide selection of all types of pillows, both on the beds and in closets. There are a couple of foam pillows that are usually stashed away in the closet but most are fiberfill or synthetic down as to decrease allergens. In addition to the new mattresses, we also added many new Bear pillows. The tall grasses should have been mowed before your arrival for the dogs and for general aesthetics. We are working to make sure our landscaping is done in a more timely manner. If guests have any issues while at the house, we try our best to respond immediately so we value communication as soon as there are any pain points. We hope you'll return to the Newhard Chalet and take advantage of all our improvements - we look forward to having you back.

We are disappointed when any of our guests have anything less than a great experience at the Newhard Chalet. We are definitely not off the beaten track but our convenient access to the main road/free shuttle route to Snowmass Village is sought after by most of the renters that book with us. "How close are you to the free shuttle service to Snowmass Mountain and transportation into Aspen?" is one of the main questions we get. That's why it's nice how Vrbo shows exactly where the house is located on their map. The road being referenced in this review, while it is the main road to Snowmass Village, is a winding two-lane road with a 35 mph limit and not a city street. The road is behind the Newhard Chalet (walking distance but not adjacent), down a hill, about 40 yards from the back deck of the house, and obscured by many trees. There is sometimes a steady flow of travelers on their way to and from the Village but no previous guests have reported excessive noise issues while using the deck and patio/hot tub space or having the windows open. We have several return guests that stay with us year after year. The trash and recycling structure is also on Brush Creek Road and is not at the front of, or anywhere close to, the house. The enclosed structure is surrounded by trees and down a hill about 35 yards from the back of the house. The pick-ups from the structure happen during the day so as not to disturb. The reviewer is correct that the house could benefit from AC. We have noticed the house getting warmer each summer so have recently invested in an air conditioner for our loft bedroom, which seems to trap the most heat. We want to stay environmentally friendly but at the same time make our guests comfortable. We hope that the combination of our multi-setting window shades to block sun throughout the day, our operable windows letting in the mountain air, and the new portable air conditioner will help with any of those occasional too warm summer days. We are happy to discuss our house and location with any prospective renters and help them make a decision that's best suited to their needs.
