Great Apartment close to Beach and other attractions.
This was a lovely , well presented apartment in a great location. The property manager was a pleasure to deal with. Great , speedy communication .

HORRIBLE! Couldn't stay there
Property was awful. Stank of damp and we found damp rot in the skirting boards of main bedroom. Diesel machinery stored on level below so when you tried to air the property and open the windows you were overwhelmed with diesel fumes/smell. No fly wire on the windows so within minutes we had mosquitoes in the property. The smell of the damp, the damp rot and diesel was so bad we didn't last longer than 1 hour in the property before we had to leave and head home again. The host did not agree there was an issue. Tried to blame diesel smell on having grass cut. We got photos of the damp rot which he denied there was any. Both diesel and damp rot we feel pose health risks to anyone staying there. If Stayz had shown there was diesel machinery stored right below the kitchen and lounge windows, or if it had been disclosed that there was diesel machinery right outside the windows, we would never had chosen the property. The kitchen bench was dirty, coffee splashes on the kettle, crumbs etc on bench, stains on the wall. Tried to raise the concerns with the host and he said "I've never had anyone complain about this before", & "there's nothing I can do about it" when we tried to ask for a refund due to health concerns we raised.He denied it saying "it was too late to get someone else in". Our answer to this, we feel is, disclose fully what's on the property in first place; the damp rot is evident, in photos. These things should be disclosed/fixed before anyone else comes in to stay.

Beach trip
Amazing stay and apartment. Would potentially feel hestitant to share the balcony space if both apartments were occupied. Beach is 5 min walk and super clean. Would return or come back with 2 couples to rent out both apartments.

Overall it wasn’t good value for money.
Wasn’t easy to find the keys. Very cold on entry to the unit as air conditioner left on. Very little privacy. No soap in kitchen. Only one high length mirror in bathroom. Very muddy outside. Poor quality, uncomfortable mattress & no bed sheets. Large 10cm x10cm spider found in bedroom early morning.

Great clean beach shack a few minutes from the surf and sand. Recently renovated interior featuring budget furniture and appliances. Worst mattresses experienced since boarding school. Addition of Foxtel and Netflix would lift the appeal in bad weather.

We had a great time spending Christmas at Smiths Beach. I would not hesitate to rent the apartment again because it was tidy, spotless, and equipped with everything you need for a happy stay

This property isn’t what it seems like. But isn’t bad overall
Place is clean and tidy, and the manager is friendly and great at responding. The property listing isn’t very accurate and was very confusing. This is actually 1 house split into two. So some of the pictures are for the different side of the house from what we got. Place doesn’t sleep more than 4 unless you plan on sleeping on the couch. Street parking is really frustrating because the street got full very quickly because of how close the property is to the beach. There were some days where we had no choice but to park in the driveway. The listing says it can have up to 6 people but doesn’t offer sleeping for 2 of those people or cutlery for more than 3 people at times.Otherwise the manager is great at responding and is very friendly. The location of the house to the beach is incredible.
