Nice place, would stay here again. Bikes need repair.

Overall, it was a great stay. Nice large deck with the fanciest hot tub I've ever seen. The kitchen had plenty of utensils for cooking and BBQ along with a good array of spices. Two refrigerators (just my wife and I, so we didn't need more than one, but it is essential if you have more people and are staying longer). The TV downstairs is a Smart TV so there were options to log in with my streaming services. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean with Dove shampoo, conditioner, and soap. BBR is a wonderful place, and this house was close to everything there. The late checkout option was great and most appreciated. There is no A/C, but opening the windows at night upstairs and early in the morning downstairs and then closing them up around 9 a.m. with the window shades down made it feel like there was A/C inside all day, even with the outside temperatures around 85 degrees. My only negative comment was that the bikes provided are in bad shape. Most don't shift gears at all or need a major tune-up, and one did not have working brakes.

Great spot, responsive hosts.

A friend and our kids rented the home for a weekend. Well kept home, very comfortable. All Black Butte amenities accessible. We discovered that there was no dish detergent (although everything else was well stocked) and a quick text resulted in dish detergent delivered to our doorstep promptly. I would definitely stay at this home again.

Nice house for large group

We enjoyed our stay here - easy for a larger group, close to Glaze Meadow pool and pickleball, nice deck out back for dinners. The wi-fi didn't work very well, and the stove only has two burners and a griddle - so a little tricky if you need multiple burners for cooking. Also - some more forks would be handy :). Other than that, house was clean, comfortable and well-stocked.

Picture on website was a sectional couch. Couch in living room different was only able to seat 3 people. Had children and infant, ran out of dishwasher and laundry pods. Needed more garbage bags. Kitchen otherwise was well stocked. Deck worked well with outside dinners

Do Not rent this property

This property was not well kept up on appliances, kitchen was not adequate ,, ice maker didn't work. Barley enough laundry detergent, garbages barley adequate. We had to buy more garbages bags. WE are very familiar with this resort as our parent lived at Black Butte for 25 years. We visited Spring Home 21 when we were there. The house we rent for the dollar amount was awful, as this house was very well used and not the standard of Black Butte. I took several pics of a beside side lamp with a light blue, the outlets in the captain room on one side of the wall did not work. the Jennair stove was outdate and barley operable. one of the outdoor chair was broken, we fixed it, screwed it back on. the outdoor table was dirty, we wiped it down. we did addressed it with the manager. unsatisfactory overall with this house.

Not clean-not accurate

Checked in to find an unflushed toilet, dust everywhere and certainly not a well stocked kitchen as indicated on the listing. Upon entering was hit with the smell of urine (possibly because of the unflushed toilet) and a burnt grease smell in the kitchen. Purchased plug in air fresheners which was able to mask the smells, and left them behind in hopes that the next guests would not be equally offended. Eventually found soap and shampoo in the back of drawers but nothing in the showers or by the sinks where they would be easy to find. Unfortunately we had purchased our own in before finding the hidden ones.

Vacation

The reservation and check in process were both great!! Easy to reserve and pay for. The house was okay, needs a little updating. The cleanliness was not very good. There was gum in our master bathroom shower that looks like it has been there for months. The bedspreads on all the beds need to be washed, smelled pretty bad!! No hot water the first day. The location was perfect!! For the money, will not be staying here again.

Need some upgrade

1. Both queen size bed mattresses are pretty old and uncomfortable. Bedding are very old. If the owner can replace queen size bed with king size and with new bedding, that would be great. . 2. We run out of paper towels and salt for the first night. Other than that, it is a very spacious house and very clean.

Dog Heaven

Our extended family had a wonderful time together at this property between Christmas & New Years. The best thing is how dog-friendly it is - dog beds & bowls found throughout the house and plenty of room to wander through the pine trees & walking paths in Black Butte. If going during the off-season, I’d give it 5-stars instead of 4. We paid peak rates, and at those prices I’d expect a rental house with more recent renovations. The bathrooms, kitchen, appliances etc are all very dated. But it was clean, well-stocked, spacious, and problem-free. I’d recommend it for 2 families traveling together.

Black Butte Ranch is lovely but this property is in need of updating and repair.

When we rented through VRBO we expected a more transparent experience. What we experienced though was feeling like we were taken to the cleaners. After all of the "hidden" expenses we felt the property was not nearly worth what we paid! The house needs repair and update. There are too many things to list here - the heater ran continuously and could not be turned down so we had to leave windows open in the middle of winter! We reported this to the very nice property manager who said -"Just do whatever you need to do to make yourself comfortable." When the windows were left open the downstairs would get too cold and the upstairs too hot with the heat running continuously. There were several light bulbs burned out, a toilet seat was broken, the oven malfunctioned. The beds are outdated and uncomfortable - and several twin beds are too small for adults! We had to purchase two air beds because the twin beds were so uncomfortable! If this house had been considerable less expensive we might have tolerated these things but with all of the hidden costs, the price was unreasonable. The day before we arrived we got an email that indicated we "may" be charged a fee to use the recreation center. It turns out these fees are not optional even though five of the nine of us would never use the recreational facilities. This added an additional 20% increase a day to the cost! Because this fee is not optional, it should have been included in the total cost and made completely transparent. Is this even legal? We had two small dogs with us. Each cost more than four time what we have paid in similar situations. (VEBO does not allow disclosure of costs). This fee too is buried. Beware when booking this property through VRBO!

This home was well laid out and had great potential, with a few improvements.

A great house for a family. We appreciated the room layout, the extras (bikes!) and that it is dog friendly. That said, some updating of kitchen utensils, cleaning of carpet, and new beds would add to the comfort of the stay.

Comfortable, dog friendly and well equipped

Six of us stayed with our two dogs. This home is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was one of the best equipped I've seen in a rental. The location was also very nice. We love Black Butte and we enjoyed staying in this house very much!

Great, cozy, and comfortable.

Very nice place for a staycation. We had a lovely time in this warm comfortable home. Everything we needed was there. We played in the fresh powder at Hoodo then took a steam room at the lovely black butte ranch spa.

A Wonderful Family Christmas

We enjoyed our stay at Black Butte Ranch's dog-friendly mtn home! We were so blessed to have lots of snow (8 inches) to play in and enjoy, as well as celebrate the holiday together. The home was perfect for our multiple family's pre-Christmas get-together. Lots of comfortable beds to sleep in, two comfortable family rooms, a well supplied kitchen, and two refrigerators! Just a few suggestions, which in no way hindered our experience: some of the kitchen amenities could be updated, i.e. coffee grinder and tongs. The Ranch and its facilities, in addition to its location, offered plenty of activity options for the whole family! We would stay again.
