fantastic location for a quiet break

Had a wonderful 11 days at the property early July 25, Villa was exceptionally large with bedroom sizes to match, the main bedroom has an amazing view to greet you each morning. plenty of storage space. the kitchen is fully fitted with every utensil available. we had exceptionally hot weather which took some getting used to at night with no AC. The approach road is effectively a dirt trail with gravel in places which is to be expected for such a isolated location Communication with Ian and Tina were spot on and we received a courtesy call from the local contact on the first day reassuring us that help was close by should it be needed(which it wasn't). Wifi signal was strong. all in all location, property and fittings 10/10. Our only point to mention was the unfortunate issue with the pool which is currently a temporary structure (of good size) due to problems with the main pool shown in the current listing which took the edge of the pool enjoyment but overall didn't retract from our enjoyment of visiting. Excellent villa for a vacation with privacy

Beautiful home with all amenities including pool and plenty of space both inside and outside. Totally secluded yet only 20 minutes from supermarkets and restaurants. Owners and caretakers are very nice and responsive. Off-grid with own water supply and solar/generator and everything works well.

Lovely villa, peaceful location

We loved the villa and had a wonderful stay. The communication was excellent with the hosts and the property managers. Everything we needed to know was in the book inside the property as we came in. The villa was extremely clean when we arrived, and we were left a lovely basket of goodies which is a very nice touch. The only room for improvement I would say there is , is that the property got very hot at night with us staying in August. There are ceiling fans in the lounge and the master bedroom but the ceilings are so high it doesnt really get the rooms to a comfortable sleeping temperature.Open the doors and windows and you have to deal with wasps and other bugs inside. So we decided to put up with the heat instead. I think additional fans being available would be a simple fix and then the villa really would be faultless. We would love to stay here again in the future.It is so peaceful inside and outside and you are not too far away from anywhere you want to go.

Hidden Gem

The property is an absolute diamond hidden from the hustle and bustle of the touristy spots, the views are absolutely stunning and the villa is more than spacious for a large family. Definitely recommend this hidden gem for anyone visiting the Algarve. Thanks Tina and Ian ❤️

C'est un vrai paradis, il ne manque de rien.

Les personnes de contact sur sont très disponibles mais pas envahissant. La maison est située vraiment au centre de l' Algarve ce qui facilite les visites dès points importants à voire de la region. On espère vraiment y retourner

Wonderful visit highly recommended

We found this property as we wanted something VERY out of the way and secluded. It definately fit the bill. Middle of nowhere, away from everyone and everything, no other properties in sight just us, nature and the peace and quiet. We visited for my sons 1st birthday, and honestly didnt want to leave. Exceptionally well planned especially for youngsters (not loads of dangerous stairs to fall, or trip etc) and obviously lovingly put together. The kitchen is equipped fantastically and there was NOTHING that was missing or we could have done with Absolutely spot on. Pool was delightful and the hosts "help" (pool man, cleaners etc ) were punctual, polite, efficient and down right delightful. We will definately return and highly recommend this property.

Schönes Familienhaus

Das Haus liegt inmitten einer leicht hügeligen Landschaft. Die Zuwege sind nicht befestigt und neben, daher ist von einem Kleinwagen abzuraten - er setzt auf. Das Haus selbst ist liebevoll eingerichtet, alle Schlafzimmer haben praktischerweise ihre eigenen Badezimmer und jeweils Zugang ins Freie. Die poggia bietet ganztägig Schatten. Die Küche ist umfassend ausgestattet. Es war toll, dass ein Begrüßungspaket mit Lebensmitteln bei Ankunft da war, weil wir erst mitten in der Nacht angekommen waren. Die Vermieter sind jederzeit erreichbar. Selbst die Essentials sind alle vorhanden: Badetücher, Waschmittel für Waschmaschine, Geschirrspültabs, Spüli etc. Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt und würden das Haus jederzeit empfehlen. Die Fotos werden dem Haus nicht gerecht, es ist in real noch schöner.

Real Holidays!

We has a wonderfull time with the Kids. They loved the Pool, outside the House and explore small Tracks to to find their way to the ruins that are south bound. We much enjoyed the house! All clean, all working, all tidy and everything you need. Attention form the house owners and keepers was perfect! Thank you It is a beautiful place if you look for calm! We surely be back.

Great Stay, great place, great house

We had a lovely stay for two weeks. What a place, in the middle of nowhere, but within half an hour from everything. For us the place that we wanted to relax and do great things in the Algarve.

beatiful location, excellent hosts!

The location is located in a very beautiful and quiet area. Access is easy with any type of car and it is in a position of no more than 1 hour's drive from any objective you propose to visit on the Algarve coast. Equipped with everything needed inside, including the kitchen, very well maintained swimming pool, as well as the garden. Upon arrival, a very substantial welcome package awaits you. The hosts Tina and Jan are very responsive to any request you may have regarding the location and surroundings - we thank them once again for hosting. For my family and friends with whom I lived here, it was an extraordinary experience.

Peaceful escape

A wonderful, quiet villa with gorgeous views. Perfectly located for daily beach trips within 30 min drive. Excellent communication from the owners and nearby contacts who were on hand for any queries. Very well appointed with everything we needed. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Peaceful rural Portugal.

We had a great time at Quinta do Javali. The setting and scenery are stunning. Beautiful sunsets every night. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The main living area was really comfortable and the kitchen was more than adequate. The host left us a nice welcome basket which was a really nice touch. The nearest supermarket (lidl /aldi) was about a 25-30 min drive and the local town of Messines is 15. Restaurants were good there and very friendly but not much spoken English. The villa is on its own at the top of a hill on an unmade road. A hire car is essential in my opinion. You can see the nearest property but it's pretty far away. The grounds to the villa are lovely with lots of different seating areas to avoid the sun at the hottest part of the day. The pool was great aswell although the stairs down are a little steep so may be tricky for someone with mobility issues. WiFi was fine and there was a good 4g signal everywhere. A lovely holiday overall. Thanks to the hosts Ian and Tina. They always came back to us very quickly with any queries and supplied good directions on how to reach Javali. Enjoy. X

Perfect location for both authentic and modern Portugal

The house is very spacious and was far too big for just my husband and I but we wanted peace and serenity and that’s exactly what we got. There is a huge garden with a nice pool area and the views are stunning. It is possibly the best equipped house we have stayed in. The owners have thought of everything. As it’s an eco house the water is quite yellow but the showers and water flow were very good and quite powerful. The house does feel quite airy despite no air con and there are ceiling fans as well as portable ones. The supermarket is a short drive away and has everything you’ll need. We used the BBQ a few times but only found the tools for it on the last day. There was a lovely welcome pack which was really welcome and I really does feel like someone’s home. You do need a designated driver to go out anywhere of course. We travelled all over, there’s a fab designer outlet and lots of lovely beaches to visit but be prepared for a 30-40 minute drive. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, it was restful and peaceful and at times does feel really rather remote.

We found our happy place!

We stayed at Quinta do Javali for one week mid October. We arrived after midnight (had flown into Lisbon Airport - 2 hour drive) and just one small hitch with Google Maps but found it easily enough - Tina had sent us a very detailed route description in advance. We had rented a mid size car, and in spite of a very small engine, but it made it up the few steep hills with no issues. Waiting for us was a basket with everything we would need for the next day, incl. water, milk, eggs, butter, cold cuts and cheese. That was a huge help since we arrived so late. The place is SO magnificent, the view is AMAZING and everything was in perfect order. It's is calm and relaxing and no neighbors close by. The pictures show the house very well, we were not disappointed, if anything it's even better IRL. The pool was in perfect condition as well. We also had contact with Saskia (Dutch lady who lives close by), and she was helpful with any silly question we had :-). We could not have wished for a better vacation. We felt so welcome and well taken care of, and we cannot wait to come back to Quinta do Javali.

Haus in traumhafter Alleinlage, sehr schöner Pool, idealer Ausgangspunlt für Erkundungen

Wir waren sehr angetan von dem Objekt. Die Vermieter sind sehr freudlich, bei unserer Ankunft war ein großes Welcome Paket vorhanden. Das war sehr umfangreich, mit Säften,Bier und Wein, frischen Schinken und Käse, sowie Brot, Kaffee, Milch und Süßigkeiten. So was hat man selten, man fühlt sich direkt willkommen. Das Haus liegt wirklich sehr einsam, die nächsten Nachbarn sind ca. 800m entfernt. Wir hatten uns ein Fahrzeug mit höherer Bodenfreiheit bestellt, dies ist auf der Zufahrt praktisch, aber nicht zwingend nötig. Die Wegbeschreibung war perfekt, der letzte km geht über eine unbefestigte Straße. Aber keine Sorge, ist auch für ungeübte machbar. Das Haus ist liebevoll eingerichtet, es stehen ausreichend Sitzmöglichkeiten im Freien sowie LIegen mit Auflagen zur Verfügung. Man findet immer ein sonniges Plätzchen, und auch ein windgeschütztest. Wir hatten traumhaftes Wetter im Spätherbst, jeden Tag um die 28 Grad und viel Sonne. Das Haus hat keine Klimaanlage, diese haben wir aber auch nicht vermisst da man sehr gut lüften kann und die Nächte durch die Lage auf dem Land sehr angenehm sind. Der Pool ist sehr groß und angenehm warm. Das Haus wird durch eigene Sonnenernergie versorgt, das Wasser kommt aus einem eigenen See. Das Haus ist schön ruhig gelegen, nur ab und an kann man je nach Windrichtung die mehrere km entfernte Straße hören. Ist aber unkritisch. Wir werden gerne wieder kommen :-)

Acesso muito difícil para carros

A casa é como nas fotos mas falta a informacao que o acesso é muito complicado para carros baixos. Não tem estrada para carros. Jipes tudo bem mas carros de estrada vão todo o caminho em 1a e precisam de extremo cuidado. Por causa disso, sentimos-nos presos na propriedade pois as saídas são de evitar. A água da torneira não é potável e tem mau cheiro. Piscina e toda a casa e envolvente muito agradáveis. Local sossegado.

Excellent Location!

We chose this home for our first trip to Portugal as we loved the idea of having no near neighbours! The house is situated on top of a hill with lovely views all around and the nearest neighbours are quite some distance away, so no noisy neighbours to worry about! The gardens are so large and there are many different seating areas so there is always a choice between the sun or shade whatever the time of day. Our average temperature for our 12 night stay was about 34 degrees so we were very grateful for the shade and the pool. The sunrises in the morning and sunsets in the evening were spectacular. Although we spent the majority of our time outside or on trips, the inside had everything that you could possibly want or need. The home relies on solar power but there was always plenty of hot water. The villa is an excellent base for excursions and although it is in quite a remote location, it is still near the main IC1 road so it was very easy to get around once we navigated our way down the tracks to the road! The owners, Ian and Tina, were the most responsive owners we have ever dealt with. Due to Coronavirus we booked everything at the last minute and we had no problems at all. There is a local contact, Saskia, if there are any problems but we had none. We would thoroughly recommend this home if you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday away from the crowds but still in a great position for day trips.

Perfekter Erholungsurlaub

Das Haus liegt in Mitten der Natur, ein Auto ist also unbedingt notwendig. Der Service war optimal, alles notwendige für ein erstes Abendbrot und Frühstück war bereits vorhanden. Die gesamte Unterkunft ist liebevoll eingerichtet und dekoriert. Alles ist sauber(auch bezüglich Corona, war im Vorfeld alles super organisiert) und im guten Zustand. Es sind alle wichtigen Informationenn in einem Ordner hinterlegt und viele Tips bezüglich Restaurants und Stränden. Der Pool ist groß und wir hatten mit der ganzen Familie viel Spaß. Es ist eine wunderbarer Ort und wir können einen Urlaub dort nur empfehlen.

A beautiful villa

The property was well described and on arrival our expectations were more than delivered. The villa was spotless and very well appointed with a comfortable and homely feel to it. The location is perfect if you are looking for peace and tranquility from your vacation. The views are stunning & the sunsets are spectacular. The local amenities are a short dive away where you can find good restaurants, supermarket etc. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in this villa and would highly recommend to others.

Phantastic villa and magnificent location

We ( 2 adults, 2 twens), we spent two wunderfull weeks in this splendid villa, which is equipped with everything. The surrounding is open to the typical Algarve landscape good for jogging. byking and walking. The communication with the owners and the local staff was great. The elegant villa is highly recommended for a nice vacation and visit to this magnificent part of the algarve close to Silves, Cape St. Vincent etc.
