Great for large groups

This home easily accommodated our large group (ages 21-85) very comfortably. So wonderful to have an adjoining bathroom for each bedroom and an additional bathroom for the hot tub crowd. We also found the home to be very sound insulated. Kitchen well equipped, plenty of towels and bedding. Parking perfect.

Silverstar Family Ski Vaca

Appreciated the privacy that each couple had in having their own bedroom and bathroom. Very soundproof for those that wanted to retire early for the night while others carried on in the upstairs dining/living room. Location was great for ski-in/ski-out & just a short walk to the village.

Two families of 4 made the most of what was an incredibly cold spell during our stay. Temperatures so cold (between -25 to -30 C) that we couldn't enjoy the skiing and other outdoor activities as much as we all wanted to. House worked well for us. Each of the 4 bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom which is incredible. We reported an issue with the main TV and it was dealt with promptly. Good communication with property manager. A minor complaint in the kitchen was the poor quality of the frying pans which need to be replaced. Note that ski room is on second floor, so skis/snowboards/boots have to be carried from first floor entrance up to second floor so careful not to bang up the walls! Easy access to skiway from back door, or we took a quick walk to top of Silver Woods Express chair. In less frigid conditions we would have loved our trip, but the snow was sticky and the skiing was limited so we hope to have better "luck" next time. Note, there is a couple living in a ground floor suite in the home, but they were pleasant and unobtrusive, as well as helpful with some orientation questions.

Great ski in / ski out

Fantastic location, fully equipped and spacious home for a large family or number of couples. Communications with property manager was proactive, helpful and very responsive.

Festive Fun for Families

Winterhaven is a fabulous spot for a large group or families! Over Christmas we had two families with 4 teens and there was plenty of space to relax individually or have group fun. The kitchen was so well stocked with lots of dinnerware, bowls, pots and pans that we were able to pull off our traditional Ukrainian Christmas feast as well. It has a large pantry closet to help store the group food too. We enjoyed the large dining table and fire place in the common space near the kitchen/living area. They were even so kind to put up a Christmas tree and decorations. The house feels huge. Each group had their own bedroom and bathroom, stocked with more towels then we could have possibly ever needed. Teens could also relax and play games in the rec room on the first floor. There was a hot tub, which was lovely during the winter. During the summer I'm sure the 2 other decks are lovely to hang out on as well. Renters should be aware that the space is spread over 3 levels, so there are lots of stairs, if that is a concern. It wasn't for us though. We found the location, across the street from the top of Tube town, very convenient for all our snow play interests, including access to skiing, skating, tubing, as well as as the cross country and snowshoeing trails. Lindsay and her team at SilverStar Stays were very responsive to all our questions and requests before and during our stay. Five stars for their service! It was one of the best experiences we had at SilverStar resort and everyone in the group talked about what a memorable trip it was.

Well situated, great for families

The games room with air hockey table was a hit with the kids and gave the grown-ups quiet time on the top floor. Layout was great, ski storage room on middle floor that led directly out to the ski in/out groomed run was excellent. Once you learned the ski runs, easy to get where you needed to go to reach any chair lift and only 5 mins to ski to the village for the kids lessons . There were a few things that would have improved the stay like: higher quality towels (our bathroom had one facecloth and worn/mismatched towels) and linens, and different pillows (everyone commented that they were a bit flat LOL, but it's hard to please everyone on that front). Also, it would have been nice to have new soap/shampoo/conditioner (like at a hotel), just nice touches that other places I've stayed at has had. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Everything was clean when we arrived except some vacuuming missed in the livingroom (but caretaker/cleaner came by with a bottle of wine to apologize for that miss which was very nice). Overall this place was pretty good and most importantly had a great hot tub for aching muscles after a long day of skiing.

Winter Haven a real delight!

We just got back from 5 days at Winter Haven and loved this property. We were 2 families of 4 so 8 total. There is tons of sleeping space and each bedroom has a full ensuite - this is incredible for Silver Star properties. The kids (teenagers) had their own games room which was great as it was on separate floor and they could make as much noise as they wanted and not impact the adults. The location of this property is wonderful too - ski in/out and short walk to village. I also loved that there were extra supplies of toilet paper, kleenex and soap in all the bathrooms. So many other rentals only supply bare minimum and you are then forced to buy more mid-stay. A couple of things we would have like to see : bigger BBQ (they have little habachi type), better lighting in the kitchen (couple of bulbs were out), and more seating in the living room (while dining table sat all of us comfortably there are not enough seats in the living area so we had to pull over dining chairs). But all in all a great property that is obviously well cared for and very clean. We would rent this property again!
