I can’t say enough about how great this property is. The parking is great. It has the charm of an older property but it’s been renovated and one will want for nothing when they stay there. The laundry facilities are brand new. Both bathrooms are renovated. Kitchen is extremely well stocked with new appliances - there is an excellent espresso maker.Great value, highly recommend!

Edward was very quick and easy to communicate with. The house was spacious. Inside was very clean. Hike up the stairs were steep and some of the stones were wobbly. I maybe missed this in the listing, but my parents who are older had a hard time. I did share with Edward the outside had trash left around and the back patio chairs were very worn and not able to be used. He proceeded to tell me the last tenant had a big party and trashed the place. We didn’t arrive until 5pm. I would have thought that was plenty time to get the trash under control. Beds were comfortable. Great location to DC and downtown Silver Springs. Quiet and safe area.

Stayed for 5 nights with my two young kids while visiting from Washington state and loved this home. I have zero complaints, and here are some of the things we loved: incredibly clean home; hotel-like bed linens and comfy beds — no hip or back pain like I often get from hotel or rental beds!; it smells fresh and new and welcoming when you walk in the front door; kitchen has everything you could possibly need and all top quality, from dishes to silverware to appliances; decor is comfy, classic, stylish — fun art!; location is perfect — everything you need close by. We used to live nearby, and this home has all the qualities we love about the local, older homes. Woodwork around the doors and windows, hardwood floors, little built-in shelves and storage nooks and period hardware here and there. Lovingly and carefully restored. And with modern touches like great appliances, shower heads and a finished basement appointed for entertaining. If you have trouble navigating stairs, this place will keep you on your toes, as the listing notes! But despite the piles of old snow all over the city, the outdoor steps here were cleared and de-iced and no issue whatsoever. I did wish I had packed lighter while lugging the suitcases into the house lol!! It was super well stocked with coffee and tea, cleaning supplies, and shampoo, body wash and hand soap. Thanks so much to the owner, Edward, for an excellent stay. He was responsive and helpful — and left a great guidebook too!

We really enjoyed our week at this home! The host was incredibly welcoming and maintained excellent communication from start to finish, which set the tone for a comfortable stay. The home itself was spotless!! It was immaculately maintained and clearly cared for with intention. Every space felt fresh. The sheets and towels were pristine white and smelled wonderful! The kitchen and kitchenware were and thoughtfully prepared, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. My favorite part was having three different options for preparing coffee in the morning!Overall, the atmosphere was inviting, comfortable, and clean! We loved our time at this home and would not hesitate to return or recommend it to others!

We found the Cottage on a Hill to be ideally located for us to visit family and see the sights. A big plus is that the neighborhood is a quiet, tree-lined oasis that is perfect for walking. Several park district paths for walking, running, and cycling are only two blocks south of the house.The Cottage is exquisite, with hardwood floors, a large dining room, spacious bedrooms, and very nice bathrooms. We enjoyed cooking on the gas range and we appreciated the large refrigerator/freezer. Our stay was four days, but this is a property that would be ideal for longer.Finally, working with Edwardwas unusually easy. He communicates openly and swiftly and the check-in and check-out were smooth and simple — way above expectations.

I recently stayed at Edward’s cottage for a couple of nights while visiting the area with my husband, father, brother, and dog. We had a really nice stay and the property was lovely. Great location, comfortable furniture and rooms, well equipped and stocked with anything you might need. Edward is a great host and very responsive and communicative. We had a great time and hope to visit again someday!

We were so happy with our stay. The location is outstanding and very close to the beltway and easy access to the metro and all that DC has to offer. The unit itself is in fantastic condition and it is clear that the owner has spent some money on upgrades. Communication the host was unbelievable and we’ll definitely be back. The only comment (not a criticism) is that there are quite a few steps from the parking area up to the unit, so it would not be ideal for those who have mobility issues.

The house has everything you could possibly need to feel right at home! Everything was amazingly clean, and the house as well as the decor was beautiful. The host is very friendly and provided a welcome book that had all the details and instructions about the home as well as information about nearby things to do! This is the first time I've stayed in a home where I didn't once have to reach out to the host to ask where anything was because the host made sure it was all in the book!

Great stay in DC area

Wow! We've rented lots of places in the US and EU. This cottage and her owner rank among the best. The home was SPOTLESS and very comfortable. Our boys (5 & 7) couldn't wait to leave every DC attraction and enjoy the afternoon and evening in the cottage.

Amazing Experience!

Our stay at the Cozy 4BR Cottage on a Hill was wonderful! The property had everything - from small touches like snacks when we arrived, to the extras like robes, games, and books. It was also stocked with everything you could possibly need. The host was super responsive and very easy to work with. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the DMV!
