Best condo experience

This was my family's first stay at Siesta Keys. My sisters and their families have been staying at House of the Sun the last 6-7 years. Convenient location on the beach. Staff very friendly and helpful. Awesome pool area with grill. Nicely furnished deck with awesome view. Kitchen area nicely stocked with utensils and appliances. Loved having a washer and dryer. All around great experience! Highly recommend this place.

Nice place, convenient location

Place was very clean. Pillows were absolutely AWFUL. All four of us had back/neck aches. Location was great right at the bridge since we golfed a lot in Sarasota. Kids wish you'd knock down the tennis court and expand the pool Overall had a great vacation, despite red tide which is gross.

Lovely but "devil in the details"

Great location, on the beach! Nice decor-basic. Owners do need to do inventory, much needs repair/replacement (kitchenware, glasses, toilet, clock on the wall, a twin bed frame) Please supply more than one cotton blanket for 4 beds. I gave the one blanket to my grown children to use and was cold most nights. A simple row of hooks anywhere would be helpful for travelers. Also I highly recommend switching to an electric key panel door system, the sand is so fine here that it regularly jams up the lock (as told to us by others.) It would be helpful to have just one chair in the master bedroom to put on shoes, because the bed is over 3 feet tall and you need to climb up into it-not conducive for dressing. Just some suggestions, overall, it was a nice condo on the beach. We did miss the ocean front view, but space is at a premium here at Crescent Beach-a very nice location. Justin was most helpful and maintenance was prompt and nice to work with. Met some real nice people including Joe Walsh-Ha Ha-kidding. Thank You Justin, you were great to work with, we really appreciate you booking us for that extra day, it made our trip so much better.

Not quite worth the money

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve stayed in several HoS condos and this was my least favorite. For the price (which has gone up $500 a week in the past 5 years) you’d expect perfection. This one doesn’t have the master vanity. The master shower is plumbed incorrectly, which resulted in two days of cold showers until we figured it out. The washer and dryer are ancient, with the dryer showing visible rust. The ice maker doesn’t work. The towels are cheap and scratchy. The location is good, but there are much better condos for less on the property.

Read before renting this unit, I wish I had!!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay at House of The Sun, have been vacationing in Siesta for 33 years. Nothing compares to her beautiful beaches, and warm blue waters. I have to be honest and this unit left me with a less than favorable review. 2 ceiling fans needed replaced, during our stay, 3.5 hours with maintenance in livingroom and twin bedroom. The sliding glass doors and screens ( which FELL on me) need replaced. The washer it stinks, read previous reviews, not a lie, it needs replaced. There has obviously been water damage in the kitchen, the baseboards are visibly rotting away. The kitchen cabinets , need attention, they are peeling. Oh! The master shower was plummed wrong, turn to cold for hot water( that was another maintenance visit!) Issues were addressed and the staff informed me that they were aware but that owners had not invested. I suggest that you verify status of unit prior to rental on this one!

Vacation Week at HOS

The furniture is new and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with all you need to cook a meal. The view from the balcony was lovely - you can see a lot of the beach from up there. Highly recommend it :)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The beach was fantastic as always. Like the new beach chair rental process. The room was very disappointing - worst ever. One of the air conditioners on the roof was extremely loud and vibrating all night long and disrupted our sleep tremendously. this was very disappointing. The only silver lining is the office staff and maintenance team really did try to solve the issue but they were faced with an unwilling/uncooperative owner. Office staff and maintenance people were very nice.

HOS great place for vacation

We were disappointed in the condition of the furniture in this unit. It needs to be replaced. Also, it was disappointing that there were not area rugs to wipe your feetOn. At the door, by the bed in the bedrooms. We felt like sand was everywhere. We liked the updated kitchen and bathrooms. But, being honest, would not choose this unit again. We love this end of the beach. Many places that are easy to walk to to eat, getGroceries, or just looking in shops close by. And the drug stores. The one thing we have found this year is the noise level of the two bars across the street. Very disappointing how loud it is. If you stay close to the road like we did, there is no sitting on the balcony and enjoying the peace and quiet. We areSad that this has happened to “our” end of theBeach. There were reasons why we didn’t stay up near the Village. The noise factor. We love this beach though!! It is our favorite!!

Enjoyed the beach outside our back door, pool was also very nice, we used the grills available by the pool. Our place worked well for us. We did have 2 couples so twin beds one of the bedrooms was a little disappointing but they were very comfortable. Furniture is a little worn, patio door/ screen doesn’t glide very easily and washer had a bad odor but overall it was fine and we enjoyed our stay.

May 2016 Stay

I was sorry to see and hear that 502 Bob was still doing his attention grabbing nightly air horn ritual. We couldn't use the decks at sunset because of him. As the American Academy of Pediatrics warns about children hearing loud noises like that are subject to hearing damage. I've seen sunsets all over the world and this is the only moron that does this. We were going to come twice next year but instead are going to Clearwater. We will check though to see if anyone has pried his air horn from his cold dead hands.
