Clean, spacious, well-equipped. Great location. Lots of fun extra features to make it a memorable stay. Having our own indoor infrared sauna was great. We all slept better because of our red light therapy sessions and my chronic pain disappeared for a few days. Perfect 4 night family vacation.

Our stay at FireThorn Manor was wonderful. Romí and Terry were exceptional hosts—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The suite was spacious, comfortable, and full of thoughtful personal touches. The beautiful views along Lands End Road made mornings and evenings especially peaceful and memorable. A truly relaxing stay, and we would happily return.

Firethorn completely met our expectations. It was very spacious and comfortable. Our hosts were warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home. We found access to both the ferry terminal and the airport to be very convenient. Unfortunately, our stay was very brief which meant that we didn't have the opportunity to see or do things in the neighbourhood beyond enjoying a lovely visit with good friends in Sidney.

We could not have chosen a better place to stay. We travelled to see the sights of Vancouver Island and spend time with family living in Sidney. This cozy spot is just outside of the hustle and bustle in the most beautiful picturesque location. Total serenity. A short walk up the road allows the most incredible views of the ocean and mountains. Wildlife right in your backyard. Hosts were super prompt and responding to any questions, the suite was perfect for 4 adults. Plenty of space, the most comfortable beds and everything you may need in a kitchen/laundry facility. We will without a doubt be back to FireThorn. The only thing to note is that there is no longer an outdoor hot tub, which was certainly not a deal breaker for us. We enjoyed many evenings out back in the gazebo. Thanks Romi & Terry!

Clean, comfortable, quiet, great location, wonderful hosts!Nice king bed, great shower/tub, oversized vanity, well-stocked kitchen, lots of space, easy parking for our car, super-easy check-in and check-out, many special extra touches (water bottles, beach towels, flashlights, games, books, slippers, detailed binder of information, and more!).The hosts were top-notch -- friendly but not intrusive, easy communication, and full of information about things to do and places to eat in this beautiful part of British Columbia. Absolutely wonderfully comfortable property! The owners met us upon arrival (Romi &Terri) and showed us around their spacious accommodations: a huge kitchen stocked with dishes, pots and pans, all the major spices, sugar and flour, even a juicer and air fryer, plus the use of an outdoor grill; a large dining table; a nice living area with a large TV; main bedroom with a king sized bed; smaller bedroom with twin beds; lovely bathroom; laundry facilities and even a sauna. The place felt like “home” for the few days we were there. The location is easy to find and close to Victoria, Butchart Gardens, and the ferry and within easy driving of all the sites around the lower part of the island. Try to visit some of the little bays and beaches nearby and take a walk around the neighborhood. There is even an outdoor gazebo to sit in for peace and quiet if you don’t want to wander. For a couple or a group of 4, this is a good fit.

Loved this garden oasis!

This was such an amazing property…we stayed twice! On our first night in BC and our last. Easy to get to, close to the airport, quiet and peaceful neighborhood. And I can’t say enough wonderful things about Romi’s hospitality. She checked in on us and made sure we knew where we were going, gave advice and tips on sights! Bonus points for Gilbert.

Beautiful, accessible, easy

This was a wonderful unit to stay in. Bright and lovely. Lots of room and variety of sitting options (living room, dining room, kitchen stools, porch with chairs, and outside a gazebo with seating as well).Dishwasher!They allowed my dog as well and weren't concerned if she barked too loud which was perfect because I had to leave her there for 4 hours sometimes while I visited family in Victoria and could not bring her with me.

A Fire Thorn Christmas-New Years 2024

We went to visit a family member who lives in Victoria and this location is close enough to the city yet far enough to retreat.It's a lovely fully equipped basement suite below the owner's residence which was handy if we needed local information but we didnt see them otherwise having the time to ourselves to be a family and decompress. The sauna was a delightful bonus and the extra bedroom allowed our family member the flexibility to stay over while we hosted themRomi is a great Host along with her partner Terry, decorating the unit for us with a small Christmas tree, festive decorations and providing a bottle of bubbly for New Years Eve was a lively and unexpected touch. Our flight arrived a couple hours early and they kindly were able to accommodate an early check-in.Its handy to the ferries, the airport, walking paths, a lovely bakery/restaurant and a delightful pub, but the suite is so well equipped we cooked many family meals which was nice to be able to do.Sydney is 5 minutes away with grocery stores and all your needs.We definitely plan to return for another visit during a summertime.

Amazing

So welcoming and spacious. Romi and Terry are wonderful and generous hosts. Our schedule only allowed a 1 night visit but staying at Romi’s is a spa-like experience and I would definitely plan a longer stay to enjoy this beautiful space. Sauna, gazebo, patio with a BBQ to be enjoyed on a future visit.

Property was exactly as advertised. Would have liked to have used the sauna but week was quite busy and ran out of time. Very secluded and peaceful location and yet very close to Sidney and the Ferry Terminal. Would definitely stay there again.

Well-appointed suite in quiet neighborhood

We had a good stay at the Firethorn Manor suite. The bed was very comfortable and we appreciated that the suite was dog-friendly. In addition, there were lovely touches like bottled water, snacks, and slippers.
