Holiday Weekend in Show Low

Met family for Labor Day Weekend. The house had everything we could ask for. Loved watching the birds at the bird feeders. Can't wait for our next visit!

Not horrible, but things you need to know

The property owner is absolutely wonderful. She communicates professionally and quickly and addressed all our needs. I wish I had known some things before booking, so I want to put an honest review. The property is in an amazing location. The tress surrounding are beautiful and it feels secluded, yet close to everything. It is getting older. The deck is dirty and the paint peeling. The grill is dirty too.The kitchen drawers are not opening/closing well and everything feels a little sticky. The pots and pans have been mistreated and they are scratched up and losing their teflon coating, I wasn’t comfortable using them but I am pretty picky. The whisks were rusty and there were only 4 forks in the whole house. There was a large amount of open, expired food in the pantry that makes it feel unclean. If you don’t plan to use the kitchen, this is a great place to stay. I was needing to cook for 9 people (grandparents live in town) for 7 days, so this was not easy with the condition of the kitchen. The beds are comfortable and we loved having 2 kings and 2 twins. Great layout. The sheets though are pilling and stained. They should be replaced. The AC had issues that were addressed quickly. I don’t think this is reason to not stay here, but you will want to know these things and decide if it suits your needs and is worth what you will pay. We stayed here a few years ago and it was good. Unfortunately, it appears other renters have abused the home and it hasn’t been addressed yet.

The house was super cute and everything was just how it was described. There were some dirty dishes left in the master room. I tried messaging the contact however received a generic reply back and the day after check in I got “check in instructions” again I think it was an automatic message. Overall, the stay was really good. The email to check in days prior was helpful, house was super cute and had mostly everything we needed,. I would book again!

Best Stay

We have stayed at many properties with my son in BMX. This property was the nicest and illustrated precisely what it looks like and what it has to offer on the website. It was quiet and sat back enough for privacy, yet it was a few minutes to a major road in Show Low. I don't like the cameras on the inside, especially with kids, but I understand why they have them on the outside of the exterior doors. We covered the rear one when we decided to BBQ and the one in the living room, as it felt like an invasion of privacy. Again, in this world, you never know. With that being the only complaint, which is not a complaint, just my two cents, this place feels like a home away from home.

Cozy, Clean and Comfortable

My MIL, SIL and I were in Show Low for our niece's baby shower. The house is clean, cozy and comfortable and there is plenty of space. The decor is cute and the beds were comfortable. We relaxed in the living room and we took advantage of the charming outdoor space. The location was extremely convenient for us. We didn't have trouble with anything, so we didn't contact the host. The instructions to enter were clear. We enjoyed our stay and will try to book the property for our next visit to Show Low. Thanks to our host for making us feel welcome and at home!

Cozy hide away

One of the best VRBO stays we have done. Perfect location - tucked away. Able to walk our dog without heavy street traffic. Large dinner table that doubled up as a game night table. Lots of parking. Owner was very nice and welcoming. Will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful slice of heaven!

I am in Vrbo owner and I frequently stay in vacation rentals. This is now at the top of my list. Come here for the quiet, privacy, and wildlife, all on the back deck, where I spent most of my time with my family. Will stay again. Thank you, Cathy!

Great location

We spent Thanksgiving at this property, and it was very nice. It was great that multiple rooms had king beds for the adults, and the kids' double twins were perfect. The location was perfect for a quiet and relaxing time. The house can be difficult to find in the dark and could use some bigger house numbers to see in the dark. It is on a dirt road and does have a "ditch" to drive over to enter, but our small crossover had no issues, and if you go slow, no other car should either. The outside patio/backyard area was great. At night, we had javelina. During the day, we fed the birds, and chipmunks. There were some beautiful blue jays, woodpeckers, and much more. The only negative was the check-in process. We did not receive any information on check-in besides the address. We tried contacting the owner several times unsuccessfully. We arrived and hoped to find more instructions but did not. We ended up having to call VRBO to contact the owner. We learned there had been a family emergency, and we were provided the needed info to get into the house. Obviously, you cant prevent/foresee emergencies. We would definitely give this location a 2nd visit if in the area again.

Warm and conforting

The home is absolutely gorgeous. Our family took a trip north for a get away as well as a memorial for a family member. The property manager was very accomedating and kind to us. When we walked the door the instant fall smells soothe the soul. The big windows in the kitchen allow you to look at all the small critters in the morning. 10/10 would stay here again

Beautiful Property with a Few Hiccups

The property was beautiful and I would return once a few items were dealt with as there were a few hiccups. There are 4 televisions in the home of which only two were smart TVs. There is no cable or Dish and the internet was not the best. You could not be on your phone and trying to stream a show at the same time. You definitely could not stream on two TVs at the same time. I also needed to rewash the sheets in the main bedroom as they had an odd smell. I would advise being very careful when driving into the property. There is a ditch ar the entry of the driveway and if you are not in a high profile vehicle you will most likely bottom out. I did talk to the host about this and she was understanding and kind. The property and location are great though and the host is awesome!

Cabin in the back country

The cabin looks to be professionally decorated in the farmhouse style. It is beautiful! The bedrooms are comfy and roomy. Ours was a very rainy weekend. The roads are unpaved. The driveway is maintained with plenty of gravel.

Great Get Away

Got everything we came for! Rest and relaxation away from the extreme dessert heat. Home is well equipped and comfortable. Slept amazing amongst the pines except for a couple wild thunderstorms (kidding, thrilling and expected). Surrounding property/yard just beautiful and calming with paths, lots of benches and nature. Left some peanuts for Buddy and the Jays. Bring extra granulated sugar, hummingbirds and Orioles are prolific eaters. Thank you for sharing Cathy, great stay

So cute and close to it all!

A perfect way to start out the summer. It can be hard to find a rental with all the comforts of home, but this property had it all. Not only was it decorated well, it had everything we needed to sit back and relax. Our son enjoyed exploring outside while we sipped our coffee on the deck. Close to Fools Hollow Lake and shopping. We would definitely recommend it to family and friends.
