"Very helpful staff. Food in restaurant very good. The whole place is clean and there are bouncy castles in the garden for children. They take blue light cards for food. The major disappointment is that the bar and main building shuts at 10pm promptly. Thus no more drinks even for residents and you can’t even sit in the building which is locked. Thus you either sit in the garden or go to your room. Sadly there is nowhere nearby to get a drink etc. crazy beating in kind we were there for Friday...

"The bathroom was dirty, clearly had not been cleaned properly in some time, there was hair all over the floor, dirt build up around the shower tray and shower itself. Windows were also very dirty. The breakfast bag is not worth it as it’s not ready to go you have to wait 10mins for the hot part!"

"Having lived near the Watermill Premier Inn during my younger years, I thought I'd enjoy the stay during a recent visit back home from the USA. Unfortunately, the Pub and Hotel has declined and are both in need of some desperate attention. The Hotel needs a makeover, with new paint and room accessories. "The room was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable, although the room was small, and if you ended up stuck inside, you’d quickly become claustrophobic. Likewise, the picture used to advertise the hotel is not a picture of any public or restaurant space in the hotel building, but a picture of the pub/restaurant 150 feet away. Beautiful rooms, lovely and clean, with mini bar …and they little details in the rooms like Disaronno liquor ….a little Italian restaurant situated downstairs. Maldon is a beautiful village, with little shops and restaurants just around the corner, I would also highly recommend Mrs Salisburys for food & service too which is just around the corner on the high street. Parking is also available. "

"The staff were absolutely amazing, me and my partner stayed for the weekend for a wedding. I felt very welcomed, and as though we had known each other for years! For that reason alone we are definitely going back. The food is great, fresh and hot! The rooms are quaint, and well presented. Initially there were a few issues which could not be helped, the staff were so attentive and apologetic, that we felt that they couldn’t have done more. So recommend this place, just for the staff alone!!"
