The staff were very friendly and helpful. My mattress was very soft, someone overweight would struggle with that I thought.

A comfortable room to stay in for one night having travelled down from West Yorkshire for a funeral celebration at the Crematorium nearby.

Really nice staff, bar/lounge area and rooms. Ideal for a night or 2 if you are visiting the local area for sight seeing etc. Shepton mallet high street is about 10-15 minute walk away although it is uphill. Taxis where hard to get although could have just been the time of day on the weekend.

Whatever structural deficiencies the physical building may have, and there were a few, the warm, welcoming atmosphere created by hosts Jamie and Rob more than made up for it. The Horseshoe Inn is the type of place where you are immediately treated as family, and you don't want to leave at the end of your stay because you're afraid no one else would do it any better. Jamie and Rob do everything, from preparing and cooking all their menu items from scratch, chatting up their regular pub customers, making sure you have what you need. If you are looking for an authentic slice of small-town British life that will create a wonderful memory, look no farther. -- Greg from Williamsburg, VA

We really enjoyed our two-night stay at the Horseshoe Inn. Jamie was welcoming and the room was clean and spacious. The food was also incredible! You can tell it’s home cooked and fresh. All the previous reviews I read are true. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.

10/10. Wonderful staff that really went above and beyond to accommodate us quote last minute. Quality food, reasonably priced beverages, and great conversation from the staff. The room was comfortable, and given the price I couldn’t have dreamt of any more. Very appreciative of Jaimie’s efforts to accommodate us.

Very clean room and the staff are very nice. There is no allocated parking but there is plenty on the road opposite. If you arrive earlier than pub opening times you will be asked to phone ahead and you may need to head back up the hill to find signal.

Hi Jamie is a lovely young lady that runs the pub. Very helpful. The property is an old pub. There’s homemade food but no breakfast. But up the hill is a great cafe called The Hive. Unfortunately due to the heat we had to have window wide open, the problem is that it’s a is a busy road and therefore you hear lots of traffic noise even late at night . The bedroom 2 has a blind on back wall that lets light in from hall way .( I personally would block ) The shared bathroom needs some work ( note the floorboards by toilet / sink . The bathroom window are not opaque so could do with replacement glazing if you are concerned about potentially being seen from outside or opposite house . This is a lovely location for the small town . I wish Jamie all the best and am not trying to to offend , just giving you some feedback.

QUite old fashioned and our room smelled of wet dog, which was off-putting. Bed was really not good quality or comfortable, it was more like a water bed. Amenities are basic and sharign one bathrom between at least 6 rooms is not great. The woman beind the bar was lovely and friendly, but apart from that it was very average I'm afraid.
