Great Family Getaway!
This was our third visit to this home, and it was wonderful as always. We had four teens with us, and they enjoyed biking and exploring the beach. There’s plenty of room to spread out and relax. We’ll be back!

Big beautiful luxury home.
The home has enough space to have a party of about 20 or so people which was the case with our family reunion. A big deck with two round tables and plenty of chairs plus a dining room table that can seat about 8 to 10 people. The bedrooms were spotless, the great room upstairs has a huge sectional couch with recliners at both ends. The LG TV has all the channels and streaming you could ask for. The master bedroom is huge, could use some nice sitting chairs but not necessary. The three bathrooms were very clean, spacious and all the water fixtures worked as they should. There are two refrigerators, one in the garage and one in the kitchen and they worked as they should. Lots of storage for all your food for sure. If we need to in the future we would definitely stay at this house again. We had a fantastic time staying here.

Stunning retreat for 4 sisters
This house was even more spacious and welcoming than pictured. It was our first time to Harstine Island, and this house is located so nicely close to trails, the beach, yet is very quiet and peaceful. The kitchen was incredibly well supplied with every tool we wanted for our meal prep. The large dining room table, living room, patio, and upstairs massive den were all wonderful for hanging out and visiting. We even quickly figured out how to share videos from our phones on the upstairs tv, sharing recent memories like old home movies. There was plenty of space to spread out at night for us all (4 middle-aged sisters) to get our rest, shower in the morning, and reliable Wi-Fi for all. We walked on the trails, on the beach, went to the clubhouse, and enjoyed all the crafts at the farmers market. This area is amazing, and so peaceful since there are no stores or restaurants on the actual island. It reminds me of our youth, when our school had a week long camp on an island at the end of the school year. What an incredible place to make memories. We did not even get around to the garage full of bikes and other items there to soak in the island beauty. This house is so well supplied, I can not recommend it highly enough. We have a couple vacation rentals of our own, and let’s just say I was taking notes - all good - instead of finding any disappointments. We love this house, and the Owners were quite accommodating, which is greatly appreciated!

Relaxing family trip on beautiful island
My family and our friends enjoyed our stay on this beautiful island, wished it was a longer trip, and are looking to return again this summer. It was very peaceful and the house was comfortable and accommodating for two families. The property manager was fantastic!

This is a wonderful property and community. The home had everything a family could want and need. Very comfortable! Activities-The pool is huge and employees keep it very clean. The clubhouse has a library, pool table, ping pong. So many walking trails and the beach is wonderful. There are activities for all ages. We hope to return next year.

Gorgeous property
The property is beautiful. It's so nice to be so close to the water. The massive amount of bikes let the whole family ride together. We loved the north beach area. There was so much room for us to spread out. We saw several deer off the deck and out the window. Kim was an amazing host. She gave us some great tips and would respond right away. We had some operpater error on the bottom floor shower and she immediately responded. We had a wonderful time and would happily stay here again.

Great Place for Multiple Families
We loved the space here for our group. We had 2 families here and the kids absolutely loved the upstairs entertainment room. The kids had the upstairs space while the adults had a great place to talk by the fireplace downstairs. The island is also fun to explore. We would definitely stay here again.

Very peaceful
Just the right spot for a quick getaway with kids. Plenty of space and the cabin is so well maintained. We took walks to the marina, the kids collected rocks near the water. Everything is peaceful and quiet yet you know the neighbors enjoy a sense of community. I loved how many books were available to read at every corner. We will go back.

Nice Place.
Plenty of space. Nice surroundings. There were only three of us but it could accommodate at least 10 probably. It’d work for multiple families or a large extended family. Looks to be more to do in the summer but it was a nice forested getaway for Christmas break.

Very nice house in the woods.
Very nice, three bedroom house in the woods in a vacation housing development. A bit remote. 15 minutes from the highway and 30 minutes from the closest town. Even though the community had dozens of houses, they are all nestled in the trees and it was very quiet. The house itself was very nice and comfortable, with upscale appliances and furniture. The master bedroom and upstairs bonus rooms are HUGE. About a 4-5 minute walk from trails or the clubhouse with the [closed] pool. About a 15 minute walk to actually get to the shore of the water. My questions were answered quickly. I thought the pictures implied some sort of view. The only view was trees. Likes: * hot tap and filtered water tap in kitchen. * dishwasher, washer, dryer * all the big windows * quiet * big, comfortable, clean house * air in the house was very clean (no formaldehyde, very low VOCs and PM2.5 particles and C02) Dislikes * bed in master is worn out and bowed * have to put sheets on our bed!? I have never heard of that before! That was inconvenient and unsanitary (the sheets were folded on top of the bedspread) * have to take the garbage and recycling to the clubhouse 1/4 mile away with no carrier in the rain!? no way. Deceptive description * Luxury - nice, but Luxury? * Pool - community * Beach - 20 minute walk to one, longer walk or drive to another * Hi-speed Internet - if you think 10-20Mbps is hi-speed. It's perfectly adequate. * 4 bedrooms? - There is only three.

Thank you for your review. We never meant to be be misleading in what we represent with out rental home. The concerns that you stated are addressed on our site. The bedding is laundered folded and placed at the foot of the bed for sanitation reasons. I believe that we made quite clear the distances to the stores, restraunts etc in the information we provided. 'm sorry that you got the impression that it was a waterfront property as I provided photos from all angles of the property. I don't know where you thought there were 4 bedrooms as we clearly state it is a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath home. We will review our site and see where improvements in communication can be made more clear.

Good activities for teen age grandkids but not close to grocery store or restaurants. House while overall spacious and adequate needs some improvements. TV situation needs to be explained or updated. They basically don't work and most remote control batteries were dead. Grill and oven need cleaning. We were concerned about cleanliness of bedding.

Awesome vacation!
We loved our stay at this vacation home! The proximity to the clubhouse was a plus for a quick walk to swim or the fitness center. The kitchen was well stocked and there were lots of bikes to ride to the spit. The master suite was huge and the upstairs entertainment room kept the kids entertained with toys and reclining ‘gaming’ chairs. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our week.

Lovely location, great property
We enjoyed our stay at this well-appointed house. We explored Harstene Island, swam at the clubhouse pool, and explored the Harstene Pointe trails. In the evenings, we enjoyed dinners on the deck, prepared on the excellent grill. Recommended for families.

Harstine Island retreat
This was a beautiful vacation rental in a quiet serene spot with lots of amenities. We loved the beach area with gorgeous views of the Olympics and Mt. Rainier. The only downside was the distance from the grocery store. The house was clean and spacious and it was great for a family of 7!

Needs better pictures!
Great place! Everything you need is there at the house, like it says just bring food. Very clean and the neighbors that live there year round are very friendly. The listing needs MUCH better pictures of the inside of the house and the area outside the house. I was doubtful of the quality of the home until i read the reviews and those are what I based my final decision on to rent. Great place, thanks!

Beautiful Harstine Island!
Great house in lovely Harstene Pointe community on Harstine Island (giving a nod to both spellings). Houses are set fairly close together, but in circular lots with forest in between, so you feel like you're in the woods. Community has nice swimming pool, lots of beach, and wonderful hiking trails around perimeter of point. Harstine Island State Park is 5 min. away and also has beautiful hiking trails. Some OK restaurants in Shelton, about a half hour away - recommend Suzan's Grill, Smokin' Mo's. About an hour drive to southeastern part of Olympic National Park/Forest. We hiked the Staircase Rapids trail - not too steep, beautiful views of river/rapids, then had a great dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Hoodsport on a deck overlooking the Hood Canal. Stronger members of group hiked Mt. Rose - pretty strenuous! A suggestion: could use better light in living room area, to read, play games, etc. Also did not realize vacuum cleaner, etc. was in garage - looked in all of closets without finding! Kitchen well-stocked - especially appreciated large wok-like pan. Bonus: saw lots of deer, including a mother and her two fawns that came right up to the back deck where we were standing. Overall, a delightful week - we'll be back!

Peaceful cabin, great for families
The cabin was clean, cozy, and the host has gone out of their way to ensure there are things to keep the whole family entertained. There are many bikes to ride with helmets, a basketball, games, books (lots of books), and smart TV’s. The cabin is tucked back in the forest on an island, many miles away from grocery stores, so be sure to load up on food/supplies before you go. Our family really enjoyed our visit!

Our Favorite in a Year of Local Travel
What a treasure this house and property are. Due to interstate travel restrictions from COVID, my family has made a year of exploring our state—several long weekends at a time. Living in Seattle, I can't believe we've never been to Harstine Island. Gorgeous! And this house is so comfortable, and lovely, and well designed with different spaces for our needs. The family room is amazing and it was actually hard to get the teens out of it—it was just too cool. But we did make it out for walking on the trails and beach, fishing, and exploring the area. The clubhouse and pool were closed at this time so I think we'll have to come back again! Communication with the house manager was great and it was a wonderful visit from beginning to end.

All the goods!
A fleet of bicycles in all sizes, from just walking to old people rolling slow. An actual well equipped kitchen and real knives! More movies than most libraries, and beach books to match. Sitting on the deck for an hour watching the shadows move and the only sound is the breeze sighing in the cedars. Best part? The massive “Hey kids go watch a movie play games and leave us adults to laugh and drink wine” room over the garage. Literally. Every game ever is in that closet. If there were six stars available for the main bedroom bed, I’d happily give it. Already planning our next get away, just wish we could stay longer.

Everything you need.
A beautiful place with lots of places to go for walks including a beach! Very spacious and everything you need. The manager is very helpful! However, the cell service is very spotty and the Wi-Fi kept losing its signal. Other than that, everything was wonderful and we had a great time!

Great location. and comfortable environment - Very relaxing stay
Nestled in a wooded island is this gem of a house. Loved the games, movies, and activities that helped with my children. Even though the pool, hot tub, and club house were closed, the play area was open and the community was very welcoming and friendly. The only small hiccup was that power outlets didn't all work, gas didn't go to the BBQ, and fragile, very fragile glass candle containers were on side tables and on coffee tables waiting for a small one to bump and break. If you move them to the side the house is just right. The garage had a wide assortment of bikes to use, make sure to bring your own helmet since they do not have the right size of the proper fitting available. What would help is to have beach toys available, we brought our own, but to have them there would have been a huge perk! Overall, my family had a great time reconnecting and re-energizing away from all of the hustle and bustle of city life!

Sorry to hear that you had some issues. There is a gas cock at the house that controls gas flow to the BBQ. I'm not sure which outlets were of issue. Perhaps they were on a switched circuit. The lower plug is constant and the top on a switch A quick call to me or Kim would have resolved the issues for you. We try to provide something for everyone but stuff comes and goes but we do our best. Thank you for the review. I will reread my helpful hints on the welcome letter and amend it if need be,

This property is so much more than shown in pictures and descriptions! It FAR exceeded our expectations. We had a resident deer come visit us every morning and every night. I felt just like Cinderella! I swear there are fairies out there too! The house is incredible! Everything is so comfortable and well thought out and the neighborhood is simply amazing! This was a great place to stay. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out for some R&R. Beach was a short bike ride away. Plenty of bikes to chose from in the garage for all ages.

Outstanding property in a gorgeous location
We took a long weekend with our kids, and this was an outstanding house. Everything was exceptionally clean. The bunk room and toys were perfect for our kids, and we all enjoyed the board games. The master bed was very comfortable and the heated floors a nice touch for the rainy February weather. It is just a short walk to the beach. There are lots of bikes in the garage, which we hope to use another time when it's not as rainy. We will definitely return to this property! Thank you.

Peaceful paradise
My family and I had a wonderful time over the President's Day weekend. Communication with the owners and property manager was quick and easy. We were lucky enough to be there when it snowed, it was amazing! The house is incredible, with big windows (photos really don't do it justice) and stocked with everything you could need. The area is very peaceful and the neighbors were so nice! We would love to come back to see the area in the summer!

Great quick getaway
We had a fantastic trip! The house was spacious and had everything we needed. The pictures actually don’t do it justice. The design and layout was all perfect. Our young boys really appreciated the movies, toys, and games. The neighborhood is remarkably quiet and laid-back. The setting is spectacular and we spent a full day enjoying the beaches, with lots of wildlife sightings. We hope to be back soon!
