The home was lovely, and it was clear that major renovations had been done recently! The kitchen was well stocked, and while the kitchen/dining/living room was fairly compact, four adults (plus a toddler and a baby) stayed, ate and relaxed very comfortably. We were there on a cool weekend in fall, but would love to come back in summer - the deck is awesome, and the lake looks like fun too! Hiking in the area was scenic and you feel like you're out in the woods, but not too far from the Milwaukee area if you're looking for a day trip there.
Notable benefits:
- Very nice welcome basket with snacks and sparklers! Great touch!
- Again, the deck is beautiful, with good space, great lighting and (I think?) built-in bluetooth speakers
- Bedrooms are very comfortable, each with their own heating/AC controls
- Remote control fireplace was nice on cool evenings
- Smart TV and a supply of DVD movies kept us entertained in the evenings
- Having a washer & dryer available was very helpful
Very small issues to note:
- If you've filled the bedrooms, you might find the main indoor living space a little tight if everyone's there all at once; eight adults would feel a bit cramped at the kitchen table or on the couches. But if the weather is decent you'll also be using the deck, so this likely won't be an issue.
- We tried using the grill, and perhaps we're spoiled with our own grills at home, but this one had a grease fire develop under the grates soon after we started it; no damage to the grill or anything, but we didn't feel comfortable cooking on it, so we used the oven instead.
