the property was just as described - better even. very clean, well maintained with twice daily pool service. good location with pool and beach. property manager was very attentive, helpful and efficient. would recommend highly.

Sehr ruhig und schön gelegen, sehr sauber, Ausstattung vollkommen in Ordnung. Kurzer Weg zum Meer oder in die beiden sehr guten Tavernen im Ort.

Très bon séjour

Très bon accueil par L présente sur le site , qui s’occupe de l’entretien de la piscine , du jardin et de la maison en milieu de séjour. Elle est souriante et de bon conseil tout en étant très discrète. Les différentes maisons mitoyennes sont très bien isolées les unes des autres et ne sont gênantes en aucune manière. Les photos sont bien correspondantes à la réalité ( même si ce sont un mélange des différentes villas). La plage est quasiment privée, sable et eau très claire. L’endroit est très calme et la vue est splendide. Le boulanger passe vers 9h et la taverne proche est bien. Pour le reste il faut aller à Frangocastello proche de 5 kms où on trouve plusieurs supermarchés, un distributeur CB et boulangerie ainsi que de nombreuses tavernes. Échanges rapides sur le site( à savoir par contre que l’on ne passe pas par le propriétaire mais par une agence par le biais de Vrbo / Abritel) Séjour en tout point réussi . Un privilège d’être dans un si joli endroit.

Sehr schöner Urlaub!

Der Urlaub war wirklich sehr schön. Die Location ist sehr schön, die Einrichtung ist gut und ausreichend und Lubi (die Ansprechpartnerin die immer vor Ort ist) war sehr bemüht und nett! Wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder :) Zwei Kleinigkeiten sind noch verbesserungswürdig: Das große Bad sollte man abschließen können und die große (Schiebe- bzw. Eingangs-) Tür ist immer nur mit vielen Versuchen richtig zu schließen.

An excellent property at a nice location

We loved our stay at Mary beach villas. The house with pool is simply perfect. The sea is right there, crystal clear. The only thing preventing us from giving 5 stars was the kitchen equipment. Its mediocre, not more. A microwave, more glasses and dishes, better knives, etc. would make it a complete 5 star experience.

Total relaxation

We loved it all - the location, the property, the taverna next door. Everything was as described. Only thing that would have enhanced it would have been some details about bins, cleaning etc as the caretaker doesn’t speak English. Thanks for having us!

Great location - lovely clean and spacious house, very modern and comfortable.

Everything in this house was just great, especially the outdoor and pool area, especially in the evening when ‘night lights’ on the pool switch on. The house is well furnished and everything is gathered for. The location is amazing, takes a while (1.5hrs from Chania airport) of ups and down roads but when you arrive is all worth it. There are 2 other villas and a nice friendly family restaurant next door with great food and decent prices. The beach in front (10 meters!!) is practically private and is half sandy half pebble with great surroundings for snorkelling. Little piece of paradise in Greece!

Sehr gutes Ferienhaus! Tolle, ruhige Lage!

Traumhafte Lage, schön einsam! Strand natürlich, keine gefährlichen Strömungen, klares Wasser, Pool bestens, schöne, moderne Architektur! Sehr gut gepflegt! Taverne gleich nebenan. Kein Tourismusrummel (Anfang Mai). Keine Betonklötze oder große touristische Anlagen drumherum. Für Naturliebhaber und Familien, deren Kinder kein Rundum-Show-Betreuung brauchen, nur empfehlenswert! Einfache Taverne gleich nebenan. Typisch griechisch: hinterm Haus - muss man eigentlich nicht hinkucken - liegt Schrott/altes Auto, Baureste. Sehr lästig: in der Umgebung (Nachbartaverne! und einheimischer Hof) bellen und jaulen oft stundenlang angeleinte oder unbeaufsichtigte Hunde. Katzen streunen über's Grundstück.

Super Lage

Das Haus liegt traumhaft direkt am Meer. Alles ist sauber und gut eingerichtet. Es fehlen lediglich Ablagemöglichkeiten in dem Bad, das in das Schlafzimmer integriert ist. Auch könnte hier ein Schränkchen stehen. Wir haben das Bügelbrett benutzt, um Sachen abzulegen.

Absolutely beautiful and quiet villa with magnificent views

We really loved our stay at the villa. The villa itself was beautiful and the views were superb. The peace was lovely, with very few people around we mostly had the beach to ourselves. The family run restaurant next door was great, the food was delicious and the family were very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return to the villa and have in fact already discussed our return. The one criticism we had was it would have been nice to have been given some basics like soap washing powder, tea and coffee and also things like the kettle could have been of better quality. However it has not changed our discussion in our rating because the villa was just what we wanted.

Fantastisch uitzicht!

Heerlijk verblijf, met een uitzicht dat nooit verveeld. Er is maar 1 ding wat dit verblijf minder maakt en dat is de weg er naar toe. Dat neemt niet weg dat het meer dan de moeite waard is om deze weg te rijden. De “snackbar” op het heuveltje is een fantastisch restaurant met super lieve mensen. Echt een aanrader!

Modern clean well maintained property and grounds but pricey for the location.

Overall we enjoyed staying here. There is a full time maintenance person who also greets you upon arrival, looks after the pool, and any mechanical issues with the property, and a chef on site who will cook meals for you in his private kitchen at prices similar to those of the local taverna. The location is remote however and a car is absolutely necessary. Due to the topography of the island a day out to the main towns on the north coast involves a long 1.5 -2 hour tortuous drive on very winding roads through the central mountain range. Beware at all times of Greeks coming the other way going really fast around blind corners on your side of the road! There are one or two TV stations in English and no nightlife. The Wi Fi is weak in the lounge but strong in one bedroom which we dubbed "the office". The beach is somewhat stony but never crowded, sometimes even deserted except for the occupants of the three villas but the water crystal clear. For a get away from the crowds holiday this is it. The kitchen is sparsely equipped, for example only two wine glasses between six people. We broke down and bought a frying pan. The bedrooms are nicely air conditioned but the main lounge/living area is not and gets very hot even in early June. The doors do open wide but that lets in the flies which are terrible until sundown so you have to choose, heat or flies. An A/C in this area would be a HUGE upgrade. A huge plus for the property is the family run Kioni tavern right next door. It is a gem! Breakfast, lunch, dinner or anytime for wine! Really friendly people with reasonable prices and good basic home cooked Greek food, who speak enough English. Their tables are right on the sea/beach front and the views are amazing. Truly excellent. We tried several others but for service alone they were the best. They even contacted a local fisherman for us, who picked us up at our beach and took us out for an hour long trip along the coast at a bargain price. After two weeks of dining with them it felt like leaving friends behind.

A lovely beach front property

The property is in a wonderful position almost on the beach. It is spacious, plenty of room for 6 people, and clean. We enjoyed the private pool although found it rather cold so,early on in the season. The outside space was more than adequate for us with 2 small children and the al fresco eating was fine under the shade. The villa is well equipped with a large fridge freezer and adequate cooking facilities, although a barbecue would have been welcome. As it was we ate at the convenient local tavernas every day and only prepared cold meals. All in all a very successful holiday. The only disappointment was the beach. I was hoping it would be sandier for,the children to play. As it was, they only wanted to stay on the beach for,short periods. However, as the villa was so close it didn't present a big problem as we could leave the bulk of the toys etc on the beach while we came back to the villa for lunch.
