I usually don’t like to sound harsh, but I want to be honest so future guests have realistic expectations. I booked this property because many previous reviews gave perfect scores, which made it seem like a great choice. Unfortunately, our experience was very different and quite disappointing. I understand every guest may have a different experience, but I believe sharing ours is important.Positives: the location is great — very close to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg; the mountain view is beautiful, the house is spacious, and communication with the host was very good. However, there were several issues. With 13 people in 7 bedrooms, no one slept well: mattresses were extremely soft and squeaky, and pillows so high uncomfortable. The house has poor sound insulation — water running and toilets flushing could be heard from other rooms. The layout is inconvenient. With four levels, all 3 levels except main level can only be accessed from outside via steep stairs, which felt unsafe at night and separated the group- and we as a group don’t like to be separated.Furniture throughout felt old and not very clean, including deck chairs. The living room only had two plush single armchairs without a proper sofa, so it was hard for everyone to sit together and chat together.Lastly, kitchen utensils were limited and old, which was manageable but not ideal.Overall, while the view and location are wonderful, the comfort and design made it difficult for a large group.
