No idea how this property is rated 5 stars. Pictures overstate the cabin which is dated and in need of maintenance, but especially on the exterior.We had a major communication issue upon check-in that caused unnecessary stress and wasted a lot of time. We asked about early checkin and were told the cabin was ready to check in anytime. When part of our group arrived early to take a work meeting, the cleaner was still there and was unaware that we were set to arrive early. Property mgr said she hadn’t told us we could check in early even though it was clearly in writing in the app. The 3 members of our party who were there said we they’d leave after the call in less than 30 minutes, but the cleaner was “uncomfortable”, so she left the floors and outdoor space dirty. The problem was that the previous guests, who had apparently rented after the PM told us the cabin was ready, left it disgusting-chicken, m&m’s, crumbs all over the floor and dog poop on the deck. We cleaned the floors but not the dog poop. Communications was all apparently our fault because we checked in early when we were given express permission to do so. The tone of the PM changed once we called VRBO because an early check in charge was placed on our account-not sure exactly what happened there but the PM said it was because she called to report that the cabin couldn’t be cleaned because we arrived early. All very confusing as we have had over 30 absolutely perfect stays in other properties.
