We stayed at this Vrbo property in Gatlinburg in December, managed by Avanstay, and the experience was far below expectations given the price paid. From the moment we arrived, it was clear the home had not been properly cleaned or prepared: No garbage cans in any of the bathrooms; Balcony had animal feces and a bottle filled with cigarette butts, despite “no smoking/no pets” rules; Ripped shower curtain and a completely broken shower rod in another bathroom; Heavy dust on dressers and cabinets; food leftovers still present; Underwear left behind in a bathroom; Several towels were wet and visibly dirty; Kitchen floor was so dirty our socks turned black immediately. There were also serious safety and functionality issues: Broken locks on two doors; One bedroom could only be accessed by going outside and climbing through a window; Two of the four futons were broken and did not recline, leaving us short two beds for four people; We had to purchase inflatable mattresses at our own expense; The futons had wooden logs screwed into them, preventing any adjustment; Customer support incorrectly insisted the futons could sleep two people each. Christmas tree miscommunication: Avanstay told us the home would NOT have a Christmas tree, so we transported a 9-foot tree from IL, only to find few Christmas trees set up. There is VERY limited parking onsite, property is 28 people capacity and only 5 smaller size cars would comfortably park there. Host said to find parking in public places.
