We enjoyed the location of this property as a left took us directly into sevierville and a right took us to pigeon forge/gatlinburg. The back deck with the hot tub was a nice space to feel safe and relax as it’s high above the ground. However, a large raccoon did crawl up and make an appearance twice during our stay, since that is where the “bear proof” trash can is.
Upon arrival, we noticed many down VA Pine trees, some of which blocked/misconstrued our long driveway, especially at night when we arrived. Even the mailbox had been knocked down. Otherwise, we enjoyed nesting in the woods, but we suggest having some sort of alarm system that alerts you as someone is coming down our driveway so those that are staying are not alarmed to look out the window and see a random car. This happened to us 4 times during our stay, all had to back all the way up and seemed to be tourists as well. In regards to the outdoor space, I enjoyed the pines and conifers which allowed me to see Cedar Waxwings (I’ve never seen before). However, the Japanese honeysuckle is quickly overtaking and will kill/strangle out many of these beautiful trees. Please look into eradicating (it’s very easy to pull or treat with specific herbicide) and also clearing some trees in the back for a little more room- I can’t imagine how grown up it would’ve been during the summer...
The alarm system to the house was annoying when we first got there, but we realized it was low on batteries and just took them out (we were told this was okay) and that fixed the beeping. Contactless entry and exit was awesome! Thank you for a beautiful place to stay.
