We loved the cabin! The security guys were very friendly at the gate. The cabin had a homelike feel to it. It was just as described. The host was very nice and helpful, she maintained contact and answered any questions we had. We had a great time and will absolutely visit again! 5 stars! Would definitely recommend to a friend.

I absolutely loved the hot tub. I noticed a leaking facet in the kitchen and upstairs bathroom, but it wasnt anything terrible. It was clean and comfortable. Location on how to get into the driveway was super scary to so in the dark though.

Poorly maintained cabin. Upon arrival the back door was left unlocked, a garden hose was in the hot tub with the water left on and over flowing. Most of the jets in the hot tub did not work. There was only two drinking glasses in the kitchen. Pots and pans were in terrible condition. Toilet paper holder was falling off the wall. Exterior ceiling fans were falling apart, interior ceiling fans looked like they had never been cleaned. Shower head was loose and sprayed water every where. All faucets leaked.

Over all not to bad. Pizza left in microwave molded, fold out sleeper sofa was covered with dog hair and stained, coffee maker still had filter and coffee left in it molded but other than that everything was good.

Everything was just as described. The bed is comfortable, hot tub was lovely! It is bare bones for kitchen supplies, but can make do. We enjoyed our stay!

Good stay, cabin as described, clean, had trouble getting in contact with host and never got a passcode for door, back door was unlocked to get in and she texted me a pass code to get in the gate. I would stay there again. Thank you to your agent who assisted me with getting a number to leave host a message.

Our trip to Sevierville

Our trip was wonderful and our accommodations were OK. We didn’t have soap to wash our hair with there, but everything else was thawed out and we had what we need in the blanket that we had was stinking. It hadn’t been washed for a while. I don’t think I would suggest when you go in there to wash all the blankets. I don’t think they do it on the regular but everything was just OK.

Property itself was fine. Couldve been a bit cleaner and the upstairs bathroom smelled very mildewy. Only cable tv and dvd players so ig you have kids, id recommend a tablet or something so they can watch shows. Communication with host was very limited. Property supposedly in a locked community. We drove right in the first day without even being checked or id. Driveway is very narrow on a hillside so i dont recommend any big trucks.

Gross & Disappointing

Got to the property after 4 as instructed. Dirty sheets wadded on bed, towels in bathtub, could feel crumbs on the floor. There was even a knife in the drawer with PB&J all over it. Reached out that night and all I got from owner was "sorry it wasn't cleaned." Property is minimally maintained & looks like a lot of DIY. Shower curtain weighed down with chip clips & looked very dirty. Tub surround has a poor patch job on the outside. Faucets "upstairs" were installed backwards and leak all over the counter. Technically this is a studio/loft and has 0 bedrooms as the one "bedroom" has no door and no closets to be considered a bedroom. Zero privacy if you want to be here with more than 2 people. Had to hound the owner to see if we were at least get some compensation for it being dirty. She said we'll get a refund. A week later, had to contact again as no refund received. She finally sent us a little over 100, which we felt was not adequate as not only was it dirty, but we had to wash sheets when we got there with our own detergent and keep our 6 yo daughter up, to have clean beds. Which the dryer has an awful nails on chalkboard sound. When we reached out to VRBO a 2nd time, she was on the other line with them & admitted they didn't have enough time to clean between bookings. So she knew they weren't going to have time and just hoped we wouldn't complain or pursue it. This is no novice property manager, they own like 10 other cabins. Minimum effort for max profit.

3 glasses, multiple bulbs out, not enough dishes, most uncomfortable furniture ever, needs bigger coffee cups, needs more dishes,no baking pans, nice cabin needs alot of maintenance. Jacuzzi inside jets are so weak.

Anniversary 2024

Last minute decision to go to the Smokey Mountains for our 36th anniversary. Looked on line for several places and lucked up to find Mountain Jewel. This cabin was clean and convenient to everything we wanted to do, Cades Cove, Roaring Fork, Greenbrier and Pigeon Forge. Cathy was very nice and made sure everything was ready for us even though she only had one day notice!. Would definitely book again. The cabin is dated so if you are looking for something newer and fancy, this would not be for you.

Lovely cabin in beautiful location

We wanted to be close enough to the amenities of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg but away from the noise and traffic. This cabin is the perfect solution. The Shagbark community is quiet and beautiful, and the cabin had everything we needed. Will definitely be happy to stay here again.
