We rented this property for a week over the Christmas holidays. Although the check-in process went well, we soon became disappointed with our decision to rent the unit. The house appeared to be unclean. I believe this was due, in part, to the flat paint used on the walls, doors, trim, and baseboards. These surfaces are not washable and dirt stains from workers and/or previous guests are evident throughout the house. In addition, overhead fans in at least 3 of the bedrooms didn’t work. Two of them didn’t turn on at all, and while one bedroom fan seemed to work at first, it would turn itself off in the middle of the night and the fan light would then turn on. Since we were traveling during Christmas week and knew we would be spending a considerable amount of time in the unit, renting a cabin with a movie room was important to us. However, when we attempted to watch our first movie a few days into our stay, we found that the TV in the movie room didn’t work. Our techy son-in-law tried to remedy this with no luck. Also, the molding around the seating platform was loose and fell off. In addition, the main coffee pot did not work. I did e-mail or host on December 24th to report the problems with the house, but I sent the e-mail to a reply-only account by accident. This was totally my fault. A few weeks after returning home, I e-mailed the host and sent pictures of the problem areas. I asked for a partial refund of the 6000 we paid. He didn’t respond to the request
