We had a fun time staying at Top of the World. It was a good, not great cabin. Very charming but definitely in the rustic category.
Cons:
- Check in was 4pm. Cleaners didn't show up until we did, about 340pm and were out of there in 20 minutes. Given current climate we understand people are understaffed just about everywhere. An occasional deep clean could help to mitigate some of these staffing issues.
Deep clean: The place (my guess is all of the locations) needs someone to come in every 2-4 weeks and do a deeper cleaning. Remove all cobwebs and dead bugs outside and in (including inside the outdoor lamps). Dust all over everywhere that wasn't an end table, coffee table or countertop. Deep clean needs to include all higher surfaces.
- Update with newer bulbs - some lights were warm white, some lights were bright white. This created some odd lighting, or some lamps didn't work at all.
- Replace wallpaper that is peeling off.
- Replace both chairs in living room - they are uncomfortable and worn down. Not as comfortable as dining table chairs. That bad.
Pros:
- Bathrooms were clean as was the kitchen.
- Kitchen well stocked with utensils/pans/pots etc and allowed us to easily cook for half the nights we were there.
- The cleaning staff were friendly as heck - they couldn't have been nicer even though they didn't have the time to properly clean.
- Upstairs bedroom jacuzzi tub worked great and was clean as well.
- Outside deck hot tub worked great
- AC worked great
Just some tweaks to the cleaning process and some minor updates could make this top notch. I would not stay here if you have asthma and dust/allergen concerns. If fixed/ otherwise, yes.
