Quiet close to town

This property is great it’s 10 minutes from food and stores but sits back in a quiet spot where you aren’t kept awake by traffic. It is well equipped with everything you could need to cook meals, plenty of space for everyone to spread out and super comfy couches! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

A nice place

The location of this property is perfect. You are close to everything but not right in the center of it. We loved the chickens and my kids enjoyed watching them and helping to feed them. There is plenty of room and the bedroom set up worked really well for us. The hot tub was so relaxing. We felt safe. It is an older property and does have its little kinks. Overall we did enjoy our stay.

Fall Break

We went to TN for a long weekend and absolutely loved this cabin. It was very private and you can watch the cows from the front porch, but drive to all the action in a couple of minutes. There is also a wonderful dog park 2 miles away that we visited daily. We highly recommend and will be back.

Wonderful time, wonderful owners.

What a great place. Nice and tucked away from the rest of town. Owners were great and checked in a few times to make we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Love the chickens and having the fresh eggs was wonderful. If we are back I. Town we will definitely come back here. Great experience

Thanksgiving away from home!

We had a wonderful stay! The weather was fantastic, the house was spacious enough for 5 adults and 2 children. Everyone enjoyed the barrel video game and other games available. The swing outside was great fun for all! Lynn was absolutely wonderful. With a No Burn in effect, she graciously had a s'mores machine delivered to the house for us to use! She was very kind. My mom passed away this year so this was our first holiday and we decided to change things up with the trip. So glad we did!

Amazing Stay

Can not say enough good things about our stay. Perfect spot for a much needed getaway. Communication was amazing with host!! Went above and beyond to help make sure we had a great stay. The house was cleaner than any rental we have stayed in. Location was perfect! Secluded private feel but so close to town. Wish we could have stayed longer. Already planning another trip!

Family stay for wedding in Strawberry Plains

Sweet lil farmhouse tucked away from the crowd but still close to town. Only 30 mins from Knoxville and Strawberry Plains. Home was clean and very cozy/comfortable. Golden girls were so sweet and they liked the petting and treats from my grandson. We Loved it!

Perfect Farmhouse

Best of Both Worlds

The house was such a hidden gem! It's tucked away in a quiet secluded place, but right next to everything you'd need. We loved not being stuck in the middle of the busy touristy areas, but having easy access to Smoky Mountain National Park or anything else. There was plenty of space for all of us and the porch was fantastic! We enjoyed spending time at the house playing games or treating the chickens to some veggie snacks and just being able to relax. Lynne was very responsive and kind as well. I'd absolutely recommend staying here and would stay again myself.

Quiet and scenic property

Our family enjoyed this quiet retreat after spending the days having fun with all that the Smoky Mountains offers! It was a treat to take care of the chickens and get to eat the delicious eggs. We appreciated the extra items provided that made the property feel like “home.” This property feels like you are away from it all, but many places are close by. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Charming Farmhouse with Amazing Location

My family and I had such an amazing time staying at Big Red's Retreat! The porch was so relaxing and quickly became a favorite spot to sit out and enjoy nature. It's set back in such a beautiful area it is hard to believe that its so close to all the action. This property really is the perfect Location!!!! We really loved that this house had chickens, I secretly wished we could have brought the Golden Girls home with us! Now I'm dreaming of our future home that we can get our own some day. The owners were so nice and friendly and made sure our stay was going well. We are already trying to plan our next stay here. My children loved everything about the house and I loved seeing them genuinely enjoying themselves without much desire for screen time. Every morning they would all get excited to go out and feed the chickens and look to see how many eggs they had left for us! It may not be the biggest fanciest house you could pick to stay in, but it quickly became our favorite house we have stayed at in the area. This house has so much charm, I highly recommend staying at Big Red's Retreat!

The house has everything you need to enjoy both indoors and out, but I would say the experience and privacy you get being outdoors we’re the biggest draws. The chix were so adorable and generous to us, my son loved visiting with them and collecting the eggs. The wrap-around porch was awesome! Location is great too. Hosts were very responsive and in tune with their home. My family had a great time and enjoyed their stay.

In town for a wedding

Met friends and family for a wedding. Also brought a medium sized pup. The stay was wonderful. Especially enjoyed the porch swing, hot tub, and chickens. Would be happy to stay again. Road entrance is slightly hidden and we initially missed it but GPS was correct and it really was there. Felt like miles from town but close to everything.
