Please don’t book this!

My entire stay was without internet connection. WiFi didn’t work since I checked in. The rental associates said the problem is with the owners att account and he is not responding. I don’t understand how come the owner.will not respond for several days for such an emergency situation. The rental associates were also so lethargic in their responses and didn’t put any effort to fix this. It seems the property was not occupied for a while. There were spider webs all around the house which shows how poor their cleaning is. Lastly, we need to put back the utensils where it was when we leave the cabin. What??? I’ve been using vrbo for several years and never seen such a requirement in any other cabin. This is a rental property that I am staying and it’s not my home. Overall I don’t recommend neither this cabin nor aunt bugs.

Beautiful cabin

The cabin is very nice. It could use a good cleaning. Needs to be updated some. The pictures online are showing where you can see the mountains. But the trees have grown since that picture was taken you can't really see them. Other than than we enjoyed our stay

Content and peaceful!

Our trip was so great! We had such a good time and the place was very cozy. Also, it’s in a very ideal location, in the middle of every big town/city with only a 15-20 minute ride into town, which made for a beautiful scenic ride through the mountains and into town! Definitely will plan on staying at aunt bugs DARE TO BEAR cabin again in the future! Thank you very much!

Dare to bear review

Check in was super easy cabin was as described my family loved the jacuzzi. The cabin was clean on all the important points . Only thing Keeping it from a 5 star is the cabin was very very dusty. The fans, cabinets and all the decor. Such a simple fix this could be and would really made the experience so much better. The only other thing is there are some small trees that are just tall enough to keep you from the Mountain View and that’s a shame especially at sunset

Beautiful area but needs cleaning

The cabin is perfect and cute, the wrap around porch is nice to sit and enjoy. My kids loved the games upstairs and the cubbies to sleep in. The sheets on the cubbies were stained and really needed cleaning, I bring our own sheets but still for future guests. I read some reviews that the cabin was really dirty, it wasn't as bad as I expected but it can really use a deep clean. Our big complaint was not having enough kitchen supplies, they dont have nearly enough pots/pans and some pans have no lids so it's hard to cook in there. They also have no pot holders so we had to use towels on our hands to get anything out of the oven. All the appliance need to be upgraded, can openers, everything. The cabin itself is cute and great but really needs some cosmentic TLC and someone to take inventory of what they can add to the kitchen utensils. Location is great you're aobut 20 min from both pigeon forge and Gatlinburg. We probably wouldn't stay here again just based on the lack of kitchen supplies and needing a deep clean.

Aunt Bug’s Cabins rentals suck

Bathtub was stopped up. Dust and cobwebs everywhere. Hair on the sheets. Hot tub jets barely worked. Bugs upstairs in game room. Foosball table broken on end where the ball fell to the ground. Fireplace did not work. Windows were dirty. Shower walls were filthy. The cabin had a horrible odor to it. We were told a technician would come fix the fireplace but never showed them when he did show the next day the property mgr said he could not get in because of our dogs (2 chihuahuas) and then I was charged an additional $85 for the 2nd pet after I told the original prop mgr that I had 2 dogs. I had previously decided to let it all go and even bought detergent to wash our bedding but after the prop mgr called me and was so rude AND nothing was repaired I decided that everyone should know what dare to bear #238 had in store for them. We will NEVER rent from aunt bugs again.

Quick family getaway

Very nice cabin, had lots of amenities. Cleaning could have been better, windows were dirty, which tainted the beautiful views.

This was a beautiful property. Nestled in the trees for privacy. Beautiful deck and hot tub. Peaceful and relaxing. The only negative was the bugs inside and the cabin needed a good deep cleaning

Aunt Bugs Dare to Bear

A bug was found in master bed, dust hanging off upper cabinets in kitchen, dust on bedroom walls, living room ceiling fan blades caked in dust. Floor had soft spots in kitchen. Pillows and bedcovers looked very old and dirty.

The cabin overall

There was dust and dirt under the beds and couches all throughout the cabin. There were many of spiderwebs all of the cabin as well. The dishes were all dirty when we got there. We didn’t have hot water all day when we arrived there at the cabin. The ride up to the cabin was so steep that we could barely make it up. Also one of the pool sticks were broken. The bed sheets were very nasty and had stains on them.

Cabin Location Pretty Good!

The cabin location is basically centrally located between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Area is quiet but the mountain scenery as stated in VRBO is less than perfect. Trees are blocking the view. The cabin is just a basic cabin and it could use a deep cleaning. There are cobb webs all over the walls and windows. The flowers on dining table and A/C vents are covered in dust. The bed was not comfortable at all and needs to be replaced. We will return to mountains next year but we will not renting Dare to Bear.

Mt. Retreat

The kids loved the little cubby sleeping nooks upstairs in the game room. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub with the view of the mountains. We were looking for a house that was isolated where we could not see our neighbors, we were all happy with the location. We would only suggest that bear/wildlife proof lids are provided on the garbage cans. We had a few visitors during our stay.

great location

Very nice home and great location, only thing I would recommend is having the cleaning crew back out to clean the place top to bottom. Dust and cob webs everywhere. Had to request clean sheets for one bed but they brought new sheets right away. Overall had a great time and location was really close to everything.

Great Place for Kids

We stayed here with our four kids (13, 11, 6, 4) and they loved it! They enjoyed the various games upstairs and loved sleeping in the Captain’s beds. The kitchen had newer appliances and was stocked with everything we needed. (We did bring what they suggested to bring in order to fill out our stay.) This is a great place for a few nights get-away.
