I was a little nervous coming into Seattle for a long wedding weekend because we're all familiar with deceptive photos. Bagley Place lived up to the hype and much, much more! Gorgeous, spacious property w/hardwood floors, high ceilings and clean, modern design. The perfect gathering place for friends to reconnect in the comfortable open living room and large, well stocked kitchen, with an array of delicious goodies and wine to welcome us. Bedrooms are roomy, each with their own charm, comfortable queen beds, plenty of closet/drawer space, and warm ambient lighting. There was no "bad" room for the last to arrive! Each one, two upstairs and two downstairs were lovely. Much sunlight during the day and the front and back gardens are just beautiful--it made me wish we were staying longer to have more time in them. My one quibble, and it's small, is that I wish there were outside lighting, especially on the back deck. It made it a more hazardous prospect to enjoy after dinner coffee and quality time al fresco. Perhaps this is deliberate, to cut down on disruptions to neighbors, but I tend to think drunken jerks are going to fumble rudely with cell phone flashlights in the dark anyway, so it's not really a deterrent, whereas we fifty-year-olds just wanted some gentle light to enjoy the ambiance and watch the stars. I would absolutely rent this lovely property again--but just pack a couple of small solar lanterns!
Big washer and dryer downstairs. We didn't have the extra guests to rent out the back house, which has two more bedrooms and a billiard room (yes!) on this trip, but definitely would be a bonus for larger groups. There was a path leading straight to it in the back yard. The two upstairs bedrooms were also kid friendly, one with a wooden dollhouse and both with kids books and games subtly tucked away. I noticed the kitchen was stocked for child guests as well.
Elegant surroundings, close to the lake--easy five/ten minute stroll through a charming neighborhood to a cluster of quaint local shops and restaurants (Dukes has the best clam chowder I've ever eaten and we're from SF).
Lastly, the hosts were professional and courteous from start to finish, even generously deducting the fee for a friend of ours who became ill the day before our trip. She's a public school teacher, and paying for a trip she didn't get to take would have been salt in the wound. Thank you so much, Trung--what a special house this is.
