Loved the Seaside Salt House

The Salt House was just right. Cute décor and good space. The neighborhood was pretty quiet, but only a few blocks from the promenade and beach, and walking distance to restaurants. (Sometimes 6 blocks or more, but we like to walk.)

Best location, perfect for family of 4

Had the best time at this stay! A short walk to the beach and just minutes to downtown make this location desirable. Our 2 small children couldn’t get enough of the open layout of the house. There’s plenty of room to play and keep an eye on the kids.

Good location, but house needs some love

This little house is cute and has a nice open layout. The location is within a few blocks of the promenade and beach access, and also just a short walk to downtown Seaside. It was a quiet neighborhood. The kitchen is adequately stocked and has good appliances. Washer/dryer worked well. Good Wi-Fi and cable. What was disappointing? Beds were not comfortable. We suggest an upgrade to the mattresses and bedding. We had to wash two fleece blankets that were stored in the rooms before using because they were dusty and dirty. The bathrooms are small and not terribly clean (hair in the shower and spots the floor). There were ants in the kitchen, and the stovetop and oven were not clean. The key was nearly impossible to use in the back door next to the lock box. We only used the front door because of that. For the rate we paid for four nights, we expected a cleaner and more comfortable experience.

Lovely Redone Old House

Great location. House is located in a quiet neighborhood a block from the beach. Enough room in driveway for 2 cars. It was clean and stocked with plenty of towels, kitchen necessities.

Beautiful location!!!

We loved how close to the beach and prom! Perfect size for the 5 of us. No beach chairs so we went to the consignment store and bought 2 gently used chairs and left them there for future guests! Thank you for allowing us to stay here!

Beautiful remodel, great location

Nice, clean, comfortable house within easy walking to beach or shops on Broadway, aquarium, promenade. Quiet street. Space was nice with two bathrooms for 4 adults and a 5 year old.

Mini Getaway

We had a great three night stay at The Salt House in Seaside. Two adults, one toddler, and two children 7 and 9. I was very hesitant to travel, to someone else's remodeled home, with a toddler! However, once we arrived I did a quick walkthrough and didnt have to baby proof anything which was a relief. The two bedrooms are pretty good size. There is a super cute sunroom which is where we put the two older kids to hang out and sleep. The ONLY complaint was how hard the door was to open/close and lock. I know that is minor and I'm sure a quick fix. The decor was beautiful. The kitchen was amazing with a huge sink. The style I would say is distressed boho-farmhouse which was nice that beach theme was not ALL OVER. Location to downtown and the beach ...just a little walk. We would absolutely rent this house again. Thank you for welcoming me into your home.

Wonderful Time in a Beautiful, Thoughtful Home

My husband and I, with our two kiddos (ages 5 and 2.5), stayed here to celebrate his 40th birthday. The home is so lovely, magazine-perfect in decor. The layout is excellent too, with the ability to easily be together as a group, or a little removed for quiet time. The proximity to the beach was so great, and even our littles had an easy time walking to our destinations (namely, the ocean and the Aquarium). We used the spigot outside along the driveway to hose off sandy kids and feet. We were able to both cook our own meals easily (all the basics we needed were there) and get takeout to enjoy at the home together. The checkout procedures were simple and not time-consuming. There were books, games, cards, and DVDs available in the home for entertainment, should you need it. The TV was connected to all the streaming services, as well as live TV, so that we could watch easily. Only two complaints: the beds are really not very comfortable at all, and that's not usually something we're picky about. It genuinely feels like you're sleeping on a thin mattress full of springs. A mattress topper or an entirely new mattress on both beds (we didn't try the sofa bed) would fix that quickly. The other complaint is that the bathtub doesn't have a non-slip mat in the bottom, or other method to make it not slippery. Both kids and one of us adults slipped in it, and with all that gorgeous tile it could have been a serious injury. I know it's not the most aesthetically pleasing thing, but that would be an essential item for guest safety, in my opinion. One of the burners on the stove didn't work, but since the others did that wasn't a huge issue. We'd easily stay here again, and be hopeful the owners listened and that the beds were more comfortable next time!
