Idyllic stay in sea ranch

We absolutely loved our stay in this home. It was beautifully furnished and comfortable with stunning views of the ocean. Easy access to bluff trails and walking distance to Shell Beach. Could not ask for a better week. Thank you!

Excellent house!

This is a very well equipped house - we love to cook whenever we come to Sea Ranch and this kitchen has a good selection of cooking implements. The beds are comfortable and the ocean view is spectacular. There were a couple of maintenance issues - the bar in the shower upstairs has pulled out from the wall which is dangerous. Anything else was minor and to be expected in a rental.

Beautiful location close to beach with peaceful view of meadow.

Interesting hex-shaped house with great views from common rooms. Central staircase a bit of a hazard for kids or seniors and should be noted in description I think. But, The house was a good fit for us and it pretty good shape. Kitchen a little overwhelming with too many sets of dishes, pots and pans many of which were not very clean. Downstairs a little musty. Overall it worked out.

Beautiful view, cozy beds, lots of character

We really enjoyed this charming house. Every room felt cozy and lived in, in a warm and welcoming way. The beach is an easy walk, and we loved watching the sunset from the giant windows in the living room. The Tv nook was great for the kids to watch movies. Our only complaints were really minor: there were no dish towels and not enough paper towels to get us through 4 days. There are so screens on the windows so when the upstairs got stuffy we ended up letting a few flies in. And the hot tub needed more water. And the dishwasher was a little old and didn’t work that well.

Rest, Read, Relax by the Sea

Quirky and perfect for our family trip. This home was perfectly located for many walks down to various beaches for seal watching and shell collecting. We brought our own food knowing there are not a lot of town options, but Gualala was close if we’d needed anything. Surf market had plenty of choices. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had plenty of cookware. The view was amazing for nightly sunsets, and the hot tub was a fun activity. We brought books and puzzles, but there were plenty in the cabinet had we not. It was the perfect quiet vacation where we didn’t dress up or have to be anywhere on time. There is home construction going on a couple doors down, but it wasn’t too loud. There’s also no real hiking besides all the sea ranch trails, but that ended up being enough a couple times a day with the dog. The best was watching the ocean, seeing deer cruising through the meadow, seals popping up off shore, and bunnies dart into bushes. It was restorative and lovely.

Wonderful outdoor setting

We had a lovely stay. Great location and access to trails and the beach. The house was clean and had all necessary amenities. The hottub didn't get above 99 and was in a closed off location. The outdoor area was expansive and lovely.

The house was in a great location and wonderful place to stay. Some of the technology was not there that was listed in the information listed, like No TV or Wii in the kids room, but other than that it was great.

Wonderful stay

The whale watching every morning was amazing. We didn't expect the drive to take as long as it did from San Francisco, as we were unfamiliar with Highway 1. The property is gorgeous and everything the listing says it is. I don't recommend trying to drive the Highway 1 in the dark if getting there for there for the 1st time though!

Cozy home in great location

We loved our stay here. It was truly the relaxing getaway we were looking for. The location is wonderful with many dog-friendly trails along the coast and great beach access with amazing sunsets, which can also be admired from the house. The wood burning fireplace kept the upstairs main living area toasty and gave it a cozy feel. The house was very comfortable, although the decor has changed quite a bit from the photos shown. Check-in process wasn’t hard, just a bit inconvenient. Would stay again!

Sea Ranch Delight

Unique "round" house with comfy, family vibe. A few key updates (like flooring and a renovated bathroom) make this old gem comfortable for modern times. The house is obviously a beloved family vacation home and that coziness really felt nice. But if you're looking for a sterile hotel-feel, this is not it. Great bunks and kids' toys. Kitchen better-stocked than usual and cooking was easy. All the beauty of Sea Ranch through huge ocean-view windows and incredible easy beach and hike access via your own two feet. Our family did not want to leave,

Great Vacation

Perfect location close to Shell beach. Great views. Game closet and book collection were a big hit with the kids. Telescope and binoculars allowed us to watch whales from the home! Nice cozy home!

Covid get-away

We celebrated by heading to Sea Ranch for a restful and dog-friendly vacation. The house has ocean views and is just a stroll from trails along the coast. Perfect. We brought our food and entertainment; the house included everything else we needed. We did need to learn how to use the woodstove since that is the primary heating system.

Quiet and peaceful

It was a lovely home chocked full of interesting art objects. The kitchen was well equipped. The location was excellent and we enjoyed many hours of walking along the ocean. On arrival to Sea Ranch we went to the address on the paper work but could not find the location to pick up our packet. Finally we just went to the house and unlocked the lock box with the code. the next day we did more hunting and found it, kinda hidden in the back of a hardware store.

Lovely Hexagon Beach House

Great proximity to the beach. Very fun, unique and well-maintained property for a family or friends to have a retreat. Great views and fun amenities (like the Closet o' Fun).
