The host was easily accessible, friendly, and responsive, the home was comfortable and lovely and well located- with a fantastic hot tub! We had a wonderful time.

We have been to Sea Ranch for over 30 years and stayed in many homes there. This house is sorely in need of updating (furniture, appliances etc.). The owners clothing is in the closets on hangers. The lighting is terrible and it is impossible to read or play games or do any activity in the evening or night. There is no outside lighting accessible to guests which makes it hard to go in and out. (The host recommended using a flashlight.) Blankets smelled musty and need cleaning. The host had us sign a checklist that we completed all 'checkout' requirements which felt unnecessary and inhospitable. (We have never seen this before.) We have stayed in many vacation homes and never seen this before. We will not return to this house.

our family had a wonderful christmas holiday at abalone point. the house worked perfectly for 8 adults. we loved being all together in the open living and dining areas, with comfortable seating and great views of the pacific. we enjoyed cooking in the large, well-appointed open kitchen. also appreciated the separate bedroom spaces and the three propane fireplaces, outdoor decks and hot tub. the location was great - took many walks on trails and enjoyed seeing all the wildlife. the house was very clean and well-organized, and we appreciated the host’s most helpful and timely communications. we would definitely return again.

Great house and great host! This house was perfect for our family. The kitchen is well equipped and easy for a few people to work in at once. The loft space was idea for one of us that needed to work during our stay. We will definitely book this house again!

Abalone Point is a wonderful home for an extended family reunion. My large family, consisting of four siblings and our spouses, spent three nights here. We loved the spacious layout and great kitchen facilities. The beautifully decorated home features multiple indoor and outdoor spaces for spending time together, while allowing for separation when a bit of space apart is needed. The fourth bedroom in the Casita was great for the late-to-bed, late-to-rise couple. There are good local dining spots if you're not in Sea Ranch to cook, but we made good use of the excellent kitchen facilities every night. The Wi-Fi worked well and consistently throughout our stay. Although we took one side adventure to Fort Ross, we spent most of this trip walking the bluffs, hanging out on Shell Beach and at Gualala Point, playing games, and simply enjoying each other's company at the beautiful home. I personally loved the handmade octopi in the bedrooms. More adventurous travelers can explore the northern coast, kayak on the river, or head into the wine country. If you love Sea Ranch and want to share it with family and friends, Abalone Point is a great place to stay.

Abalone Point

This house was a magnificent place for our family to stay for the Christmas holidays! It was spacious, warm and dry, and offered an especially well-stocked kitchen. With the casita, we all had plenty of space to spread out, and with the coastal and up-in-the-hills walks, plenty of space to roam. Access to the rec centers, with their pools and saunas, was also welcome. Brava!

Weekend at Abalone Point

We had a wonderful stay at Abalone Point. The house was well located with a view of the ocean and had everything we needed for a family get-away. We had beautiful weather and enjoyed walking the Bluff Trail each day. The owners really care for their home and it shows in the way it is maintained. We look forward to staying there again.

A World Away

Abalone Point offers a wonderful respite from urban hustle and bustle. We stayed as a family of four (kids 6 and 3) and the house was perfect for our needs. The location is perfect - 10 to 15 min walk to the perfect beach for tide pools (or 3 min drive, with easy parking), 10 min drive to Gualala for groceries, 10 min drive to "The Hot Spot", 10 min drive to Sea Ranch Lodge and 2Fish bakery. The house was very clean, cozy, and well-suited to cooking or lounging (huge sofa, games, puzzles, multiple TVs and good wifi). We loved watching the local deer by day and stargazing from the hot tub by night. We would love to return!!!

What a lovely place to vacation!

We had a large family group and rented several Sea Ranch houses for a long weekend. It was lovely! The house was immaculate with beautiful views everywhere we looked. The host's instructions were clear for both check in and check out. We had no problems finding it. The host was very responsive whenever I had a question. The wildlife was breathtaking. The stars at night were spectacular. The host even provided great suggestions for things to do on the area. I would stay here again!

Peaceful retreat

We loved our time at Abalone Point. The home is on a cul-de-sac with a spectacular view. It is a short walk from the gorgeous Shell Beach. There is a large yard in the front, which is perfect for outdoor games. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen. It is spacious, well-equipped, and nicely organized. There was a great selection of spices and vinegar on hand! We appreciated the multiple patio areas to lounge and enjoy the view. The hot tub is lovely as well. The house includes fun, creative touches such as beautiful collections of shells throughout the house. We look forward to our next visit!

Had an awesome time!!

Our stay at Abalone Point was awesome! Peggy’s home was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The 4 of us who stayed here had a very relaxing weekend lounging around the house / enjoying the surrounding area
