We really enjoyed our stay at the villa. It was great to split our day between the pool and beach. We shopped locally at the Coop, wine merchants, pasticceria, butchers and fish market. We can’t wait to return next year!

Fantastic!

We were an extended family of 8 adults and 4 kids at age 1 to 74 that had a fantastic holiday in the villa. The layout of the house with 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and the additional room on the top floor worked perfect for us. The pool and the pool area was the perfect hang out place and the kids enjoyed not only the pool, as did all of the adults, but also the play area in the garden. The two kitchens, one on the ground floor with access from the garden area, offered great flexibility. We cooked a lot in house and enjoyed al fresco dining at the large table in the garden area. Grocery stores (supermarkets, butcher, vegetable, and wine shops) are literally at the door step to the Villa as are many other shops and restaurants. A great bonus was also the fact that the beach was so close; we alternated between the pool and the beach several times per day. You need a car to get here but not once you reach the Villa. Last but not least, the hospitality and attentiveness of Melina and Guglielmo were exceptional, they do care about their guests in a way that we've not experienced before. Thank you so much! We have rented many fantastic houses at different locations in Italy but this is undoubtedly one of the top ones!

A wonderful stay. The villa was perfect for a group of 9 and there something for everyone. We loved being near the beach and having the beautiful pool and grounds to relax in. Melina and Guglielmo could not have been more welcoming, responsive and helpful.

Amazing, beautiful and perfect!

We had a lovely stay in a beautiful house with rooms and space both indoor and outdoor for a 3 generation familiy of 15 persons age 1 to 67! The house and garden were beautifully decorated, all rooms had well functioning AC. The surroundings with a nice clean beach, supermarket and restaurants were perfect, and we did not need a car. The host were most friendly, professional, helpful and service minded. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a large and beautiful property in Italy/Sicilia for vacation!

Superb for Families!

Phenomenal! Melina and her husband were superb hosts, and we can't say enough about this place. We were a large family across three generations (ages 6 to 76); everyone had a blast. The grandparents stayed in the extra two suites that are a separate building while the younger generations had their run of the larger house. We grilled, we swam in the pool, we took in the garden, we walked to the beach and various restaurants. This is a very special place, with various shops within 2-3 blocks (a gelato shop, a wine store with local wine, a butcher shop, a grocer, various restaurants). Day trips included Scicli, Caltagirone, and Ragusa, all recommended (Noto too). You'll want a car to get here but then you can park it and have everything you need within walking distance, among the most beautiful surroundings and fixtures, with the dearest and highly responsive hosts nearby. This might just be the best rental I've enter encountered.

Excellent property! Go!

I fully agree with all previous comments. We were a family of 9 people including 2 grandchildren. We cooked most of the meals buying meat at the butcher and fish at the harbour. The pool was great. Wine shop and grocery shop very close. We already want to go back.

Perfect Villa

We were a family of 10 with two small children. The Villa had everything you could want in fantastic surroundings - large, peaceful garden, good size pool, play area and lots of shady seating areas. It is located close to food shops, including a very good butcher and wine shop and is a very short walk to the beach. Melina was extremely helpful with all our needs. We used the chef services on two nights which worked very well for us. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Very beautiful villa

Villa and the garden were very nice and provided a beautiful scenery to spend the holiday. Couple of nice restaurants in short walking distance and also the beach is very close. We spent most of our time in the pool & in the shadows due to very hot weather. This was our first time in Sicily and have to say that logistically Donnalucata was not the best place to explore the island, as the roads near to town were in poor shape. Meaning that it was not feasible to do any day trips to touristic attractions, but of course the hot weather was also one reason for this.

The house and garden are beautiful: mature trees and flowers provide shade and privacy and the spacious house provided ample room to sleep our group of 12 and have spaces for sitting, meeting eating, etc. Well-equipped kitchens (2, one in the garden), a pool, BBQ, table-tennis, sun loungers, etc ensured that all could enjoy the sunny weather. Shops very close by provided all we needed and local restaurants were good. Highly recommended.

Great location within walking distance from the beach, wine store, grocery store, bakery, green grocer and gelateria. Garden is spectacular! No real gathering spot in the house except the dining areas, but we were all happy outside. Francesca was very helpful and couldn't have been nicer.

Beautiful, peaceful escape

We had the most wonderful week at this property. We were two families with small children reuniting after many years apart. The house was well equipped, clean and very comfortable. The property was stunning! The pictures do not do it justice. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The gardens are beautiful. There are so many little areas to sit and take it all in. The community around the home was very welcoming. The best little cafe was out the back gate and the butcher across the street was amazing. And of course our hosts were helpful and so kind. I hope we can come back here again someday.

Can’t get any better!

Melina and Guglielmo are the most impressive property owner/managers we’ve ever experienced. They are so attentive. Even brought jumper cables when our car died. The villa is absolutely stunning. The pictures on VRBO are great but still don’t do it justice. Seconds from a cafe and minutes to the beach and restaurants. Couldn’t ask for a lovelier stay or hosts.

Traumhafte Villa

Wir, drei Frauen mit insgesamt 10 Kinder, hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in Donnalucata. Die Villa ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, der Garten ist ein Traum und die Nähe zum Meer, aber auch zu Läden, Restaurants machte alles sehr gemütlich und relaxed. Wir wurden von Melina und Guglielmo bestens betreut, insbesondere als eine von uns Erwachsenen krank wurde, einen Arzt brauchte und früher abreisen musste. Die kleineren Kinder haben den Spielplatz sehr genossen und die grösseren natürlich den Pool und die ganze Anlage. Vielen Dank für diese wunderschöne Woche im Oktober, während der wir oft auch um Mitternacht noch im T-Shirt rumlaufen konnten.

Wunder volles Haus in einem wundervollen Garten

Wunder volles Haus in einem wundervollen Garten Das Haus liegt in einem riesigen Garten unter Schatten spendenden Bäumen. Es fehlt wirklich an nichts, von der freundlichen Begrüßung samt Obst und Wein, bis hin zur liebevollen sehr persönlichen Einrichtung dieser Villa. Es handelt sich wirklich um ein sehr besonderes Objekt, dem man die liebevolle Pflege und Ausstattung anmerkt. Alle Geschäfte des täglichen Lebens und auch der Strand sind in der Nähe. Das Haus ist perfekt für große Familien, auch mit kleinen Kindern mit denen man am Pool selbstverständlich aufpassen muss. Es gibt sogar einen kleinen Spielplatz im Garten. Herzlichen Dank dass wir dieses besondere Haus mieten durften. Karin und Jörg und Familie

Fantastic house!

This house is absolutely fantastic! It is even better then what you see in the photos. Lovely big rooms and the garden is huge! The beach is close and we also loved the fact that the shops for food and wine was literally on your doorstep. A few good restaurants also within 3-5 minutes walk. The host is so helpful with every question you might have. We were a big family of 12 with small children and an age range up to 70. The kids did love the pool! We can all highly recomend this place!

Fantastic find!

This was a special place to stay. As listed, the garden is very large and provides great privacy and shade. The locals were very helpful as we muddled along with an app to help our Italian. The coffee shop (opposite back gate) and local wine shop were particular highlights. We had a mix of days out and staying by the pool. The pool was spotless as was the rest of the Villa. The Blue Moon was incredible and we loved walking along the seafront for an evening gelato. Melina was very responsive and there to welcome us when we arrived. There are no pictures of the annexe bedrooms online but they are beautiful and felt safe for teenagers to sleep in. The aircon in all the rooms proved very necessary in August. We had a fantastic holiday and would definitely recommend.

Absolutely beautiful property, fantastic hosts, great location!

This house is decorated in a beautiful style with antique style furniture - everywhere you look there is something else to see. Even after a week we did not take it all in! We were 3 families totalling 10 from age 16 to 72 and there is lots of space to be together or find a quiet spot on your own. 2 minute walk to beach - the sea is so warm! 2 min walk to a supermarket (there is another about 7 mins away). Next to a wine shop! Pharmacy and restaurants all in easy walking distance. The hosts are so very welcoming and very helpful with anything that you need - they are such a lovely couple. This place is booked up in advance and once you have been it’s easy to see why. Just wonderful - 5 stars!

Fantatstic Location

We had a wonderful time at Donnalucata. Our hosts were very friendly and uncomplicated. The house is outstanding like a green oasis in middle of the city. Only few meters to the beach - fantastic!
