"A great little place to stay. Right in the middle of where you want to be with free parking on the surrounding streets. Very friendly place and done out nicely whilst retaining the character of the property. Very quiet with comfy beds. I even got an ice bucket for my milk! Adam is very helpful, putting a fan in the bedroom. Will definitely be back."

"I think the hotel is either new or newly run as they seem to be finding their feet. Check-in was 3pm to 4pm and when I called to say I might be around 6:30, I was told "it's only hour and a half from Manchester" and "there might not be anyone here after 5pm". It felt a bit abrupt in all honesty but when I arrived around 5:30 (Friday school holiday traffic), they were pleasant enough. Breakfast starts at 10:30 to 11:30 which is very late and checkout is 10am. Weird timings, hence my theory they...

"Room was not cleaned on 2 days, breakfast quality was good but service disorganised, was 1st into Breakfast last to be served. Another room was broken into in middle of night, police also had to attend following night. This was my third staying at the Waves, last 2 years excellent but this year was very poor, have cancelled booking for next year. Two other couples who have been staying each year also not booking for next year. A real shame the change from last year "
