We rented the flat in this listing and 2 hours before checking in were sent a message from the host with check in instructions for a different, downstairs listing. We reached out to the host with no response. We arrived at the property (in a bad neighborhood) and found no power on at the place and it smelled of mold. Bc of the vrbo process, we checked in at 4, immediately notified vrbo and were told we could not get our money back until the host had been given FIVE HOURS to answer the phone. We spent over an hour and a half on the phone with customer service agents in Asia, while they attempted to call the host repeatedly. After a long day of traveling, and after a video showing Vrbo the property, we still weren’t promised a refund to our money/reservation until we called back at 9 pm and spent another 45 min on the phone while they tried to contact the owner again. We were offered a refund to book somewhere else, eventually, but the whole process did not put the customer first even in the face of overwhelming evidence. Disappointed. I just hope we get a refund completed and that they honor their word in reimbursement.
