charming property
I thought the property was cute and charming. It was well maintained on the inside. the outdoor area could use some cleanup. it is old and that is just a fact but it is well maintained. i didn't catch the fact that the bathroom was inside another bedroom till after but it was not that big a problem.

Great location but there are drawbacks
Pros--good price and location. Cons--the biggest is that every noise from the apartment above can be heard loud and clear. The last night of our stay, this kept us awake into the wee hours. Also a con--the bed in the second bedroom is way too high off the floor, with only a much too small (child's?) stepstool to assist getting into it. And do not expect privacy in the bedrooms--there are no doors, only curtains.

The property was nice. I also rate my stay with how comfortable my bed was. The back bedroom with the TV was very comfortable, however the bedroom with the dining room table was not. It was hard and you could feel the springs. Not in a jabbing sort of way, but it wasn’t soft like the other one. You could also hear the people above us. Stomping and running but it stopped around 10ish , so it didn’t disturb my sleep after I went to bed.

Great Week in Savannah
My daughter and I stayed here on a spring break trip. It was perfect for the two of us. We loved the neighborhood, its proximity to the grocery store, and the ample parking. We had a great week with everything we needed. We would recommend it to friends going to Savannah.

Convenient
First, the good. A convenient location with adequate parking and a short walk to a Kroger grocery. The courtyard was an excellent place for an early evening cocktail. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The bad. Kitchen was tiny and poorly lighted. The shower had two temperatures - too hot and too cold. Once you adjusted the water temp to your preference and began your shower the water temp would change - either hotter or colder. The sink mirror was poorly lighted and the sink fixtures, while adequate, were ancient.

Fairytale Home
This place caught my eye right away. It was beautiful and just had something about it that fit our fairytale aesthetic perfectly. We eloped in Savannah and they allowed us to take some pictures before, the porch was perfect for getting ready, and the indoor accommodations were just right. The house is centrally located and is conveniently across from a kroger which made shoping easy. I would recommend to couples or girls trips! We will definitely be back!

Great Location but…
Th entry was difficult to locate at night as it was not clear or illuminated to point us where the steps were to find the carriage house. The kitchen lights also did not work and the ice machine made ice all night long because it was broken. There was also an odors in they air that made us think the pipes has rotted. Then we had a family above us that had children running constantly. The location and closeness to a supermarket were truly great so we enjoyed that.

Quaint and Convenient
Beautiful historic building. Walking to restaurants, riverwalk and historic location was very easy Grocery store is immediately across the street. We had no problem finding parking, during our stay. Check in/out instructions were very straight forward. Really enjoyed relaxing on the private lower garden level patio in the evenings after enjoying the city. Would gladly stay here again.

This property was just as listed, beautiful, quaint, minimal, right in the middle of everything! Back yard space that we could hang in after of day of walking Savannah. Grocery store and Starbucks across the street, no issues with parking, safe and quiet neighborhood! We loved in and would definitely stay again!

Not worth the $.
No issues with check in. Property is run down, all walls are in desperate need of repair due to cracked paint, rust, and some strange substance stuck to the ceiling in the bedroom with the bathroom in it. The handle to open the dryer is a shoelace, the bathroom sink is very old, and there is rust on the tap. One day a dog in the house upstairs was howling the entire day and I had to contact the property manager. You will hear what sounds like children running overhead any time after 0800. It's just very run down and in desperate need of a complete makeover.

Nice neighborhood
If you want to be apart of the culture in Savannah this is the right place for you. It was my husband, 13 year old daughter, and my 4 year old son and it was enough room for all 4 of us. Only thing is I wish the rooms had actual doors and not just curtains for privacy.

Nice and Quiet
It was a nice property to stay in, very convient to Kroger. Literally, right next door to the grocery store. We had brought a board game and playing cards for the nights we stayed. We had a very relaxing time. If you have small children bring them a tablet or DVD player to watch movies on, there is only 1 TV. I didn't mind that at all. Would recommend this place for anyone.

Locating the property with the instructions provided was very easy. There is a Kroger market one block away which was handy. We have stayed at VRBO’s in Savannah in the past and this property was not nearly as nice. There were basic amenities but no frills! The furniture looked like mismatched thrift store items in poor condition. The courtyard was nice but the property definitely needed maintenance. The bathroom sink did not drain and the door handle into the master bedroom fell off in my hand! There was only one tv and it was maybe 24” in the master bedroom without cable! If you plan on bringing family in bad weather you should select another property as this property didn’t have a living room area other than a screened in dirty porch. I would rate this property 3/5 and that’s being generous!! A+ for the photographer who shot the pics for VRBO. It made this place look ALOT better than it actually is.

This is a budget oriented adventure listing. The photographer was me with an iPhone 8 so no fancy photography. Sorry Ann thought it would be different from what’s advertised but we try super hard to manage expectations by explaining what you’re getting including with no cable tv. This is the first house in Savannah to have electric lights. It’s a world famous architectural relic. It’s not “for everyone” due to the rustic original nature of the historic finishes. The price lures some who aren’t reading the entire description so thanks for the heads up for future guests.

The bathroom being off one of the bedrooms is clearly described in the listing and is also mentioned by other reviews. to manage expectations it’s explained to prevent anyone being surprised and to consider it before booking. Also this is an antique relic. That aspect of the dwelling is depicted and described in such detail…. Calling it “outdated” is a way to explain that it’s a historic house without modern renovations. Thank you for clarifying for future guests ;) it’s very important to us that guests read all the details and consider if this is really a fit for them prior to reserving it.

The apartment was part of a much larger pretty old home. We loved the walkability to everything in town from the place. Forsyth Park was the highlight and only a few blocks from the house. Would definitely stay here again.

The lighting outside made it impossible to see the address or where the entrance was. The outside yard could be really pretty but it is unkept, overgrown and not inviting. The inside is dark, musty, humid, the lighting is terrible, an air conditioner needs to be added to the kitchen area. There are no amenities, kitchen is sparse at best, the owner does not respond at all and the person in charge is not helpful nor does she return calls until you've called multiple times. Beware of the word 'RUSTIC' in property descriptions. If you want to stay in a creepy place, this is it!

Relaxing getaway
This property was fun. It is what we called quirky. No tv or internet. No living room. It had a great screen room as the living area. We ate and played games in the evening out there. There were only three plates there but it was not a problem for us as we used our paper plates. One eye of the stove wasn’t working but again not a problem. We wanted down time and that was what we got after returning from a full day out of walking the town!

Perfect Spot to walk everywhere and experience the historic houses in the area.
I booked this location based on the proximity to Forsythe Park, the location of the wedding I was attending. We arrived at night (flight delayed) which made it a little difficult to see the gate, but we got there. Hint: The GPS will take you to 225 Hall street, but the gate is on Lincoln adjacent to the No Parking sign on the street. The apartment is through the gate and down a step. It was clean and charming from the outside in. It is a block away from the park and right across the street from Kroger. We walked to almost every location from our apartment, including walking home from the riverfront, which took about 20 minutes. This location does have quiet hours so it is ideal for a couple or two that doesn't plan on having visitors after 9. Both rooms have A/C's and the room closest to the indoor seating also had a tv. Stove, microwave, fridge, and washer/dryer are included and if you do call an Uber, we never waited more than 5 minutes for a car.

Perfect location to walk almost anywhere you wanna go , watch your first step into the building as it's a drop down step hard to see if you're carrying bags . We were mostly there to sleep as we had alot planned on our trip but it was easy check in and out process

I have stayed in Savannah numerous times. Always had a wonderful experience with friendly people. NOT THIS TIME! It stayed 84+ degrees in the entire time in the apartment with 2 ac units going, nobody could sleep. And no relief was offered when property manager contacted! Would not recommend

so hot one air conditioner started smelling hot unplugged it huge cockroaches lying around on floor
We left after one night. of course no refund went to a hotel...had I seen cockroaches first night I would not have stayed there..several doors locked spooky would not recommend it to anyone...lesson well learned....she should not be on vrbo...silverware in tray exposed for mice and roaches..they may go by many names "palmetto bugs" whatever....a roach is a roach

The location of the property was great, however, the property has two window units that did not cool that apartment at all. IT was so incredibly hot that it was a challenge to sleep. Ideal for Fall and Winter but would not recommend for Summer.

Great location, historical building, but NOT comfortable 3the summer.
We loved the building, location, and ease of communication with host. But NOT ENOUGH AC for any summer bookings. Seriously, we stayed away from the house until we thought it would be tolerable at night, and still couldn't sleep in either bedroom, let alone so anything in the kitchen. Probably great in 75 degree weather.

We absolutely loved the screened in porch. That’s actually where we spent most of our time because it was cooler there than inside the home. The front bedroom was tolerable. The back bedroom and bathroom was miserable. It never did get comfortable in the 4 days we were there. The floors needed to be swept/mopped. There were potato chips under the table on the porch. And something had been spilled in the kitchen. It’s too bad it’s not maintained any better. It was convenient to everything we wanted to see. And was really nice to be so close to Forsyth park.
