My husband and I went to Savannah to celebrate our first anniversary and New Year's Eve. When we travel, we like to become part of the community, so a modern hotel is out of the question. We loved, loved, loved the apartment on York Street! There could not have been a better location! It was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable (I wish I could take the bed home with me!). When we first arrived, we were not able to open the front door, but we called management and a nice, young man arrived within 10 minutes and solved the problem. Because of the location (dead center of the historic district), we were able to walk everywhere in the district, and I think we covered every inch at least once. This is the second time we've used VRBO and will continue to rent from you. Two minor issues: a lamp in the living room could not be turned off, and the cord was in a mass of other cords we didn't want to get tangled up in, so we had to leave it on 24 hours a day; and the toaster oven in the kitchen area was not as useful as a microwave would have been. But we managed in both cases without problems. We highly recommend Clary's Café for breakfast - sit at the counter and join the Clary's regulars. Other great places: Vics on the River and Olde Pink House for fancy dinners. Other recommendations are listed in the guest book in the apartment. (And DEFINITELY read the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil before coming to Savannah) You'll love it!
